As some of you guys are aware, I sold my Stagea several months ago. Most people had guessed I had another toy lined up ... I mean, why would I sell my pride and joy right?

Well its certainly not another turbo Nissan I've replaced the Stagea with. Sometimes, there are much more important things in life than toys.

This is what I sold my Stag for:

My wife Tracy is 3 months pregnant!!! :D Its an IVF baby too. And as most people would know, IVF is certainly not cheap. My wife and I have been on IVF and trying to have a child for a number of years now. We've also been doing an extension to our house, and we'd been dipping into the funds for our house extension, to pay for some cycles of IVF. The money was going to run out inevitably, so I made the gamble ... and my gamble paid dividends. After nearly 15 years, years of IVF, and a divorce (ex-wife told me after 10 years she didn't want kids) I'm finally having my first child.

I WILL be getting a new toy in the near future ... but for now, my Bluebird is doing just fine.

:D

Big congrats!

My wife just hit 6 months (holy crap, only 12 weeks to go!). I bought a Stagea because of it :)

GL with everything. Hope you have a worry free pregnancy!

Congrats Ruby, awesome for you guys!

Best thing you'll ever do, enjoy every minute of it, time really flies. Sounds like you'll make great parents, you can't love em too much.

Cheers, Dale.

Awsome news mate kids are the best most important things in the world they forfill you much more than any material possesion ever could rose and i just had number 2, Eve four and a bit months ago. plenty of time for toys later on in life big congrats and all the best.

Cheers jase

Congrats, Ruby!

I've heard how expensive an IVF program can be, and even then there's still no guarantee that it will be successful, so I'm glad it's worked for you and your wife!

Congratulations!

Forget the material things in life, bringing a new life into the world is far more important.

We have 2 (kids that is) and 1 Stagea in that order.

I sold a sports car to start a family and get a mortgage- 10 years on I have absolutely no regrets!

I can always get that sports car again, but won't replace the kids for anything (the wife is another matter ha, ha)

Hoping all goes well mate, just had our first addition in November. Sold the v8 coupe for the m35 (soccer mum) baby seats fit well. Pram and great Dane do also! Good luck with it all, crazy first two weeks I tell you!

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
