you should look at it now because you will only be out of pocket an extra $1000 buy the time you do the maths.

have a read of this and see what you are up for.

Yeah tweety Ive read that thread, I've always been concerned about the need to change more of the things in the engine bay; wiring loom, ECU, all plumming etc..

you dont need to change the loom or ecu?

the loom only attaches to the head, which is still rb26 and the ecu would be changed and tuned as its a modified engine,

plumming is getting custom made as youre using a big single...so only the adaptor plate is different.

I'm not building a RB26/30, hence no research... I'm building a RB26 and I know enough about them to complete this build just fine, but thanks for the concern.. I've been researching RB26 builds for the last 5 years or so as I always knew I was buying a GTR and I have always loved a high revving RB26

Yeah okay, well a little miss understanding but thats cool..

No real updates today, still waiting on rims from Japan, car from body shop and engine from engine builder hahaha Good things come to those who wait so i guess I'll wait some more...

Hey mate,

where and how much exactly are you getting the rear diffuser from?

Cheers,

Anthony

Sorry mate, the panel shop ordered it from Nissan Japan brand new.

Not sure but the genuine brand new wheels, front and rear diffusers, nismo rear pods and side skirts were $13700 delivered...

So I'm guessing it was fairly pricey... Haha

Hey guys,

Things have been a little slow lately, waiting for the parts from Japan..

I went to see Tony at knight engines today, porting is getting done and the block should be finished at the machine shop today

The engine will be fitted next tuesday or Wednesday by Shaun at boostworx and all custom piping ect. made up to suit..

Then it's on with the two piece rotors and up on the boost haha

Photos up shortly.. Now things are arriving, things will be flowing along alot quicker!!

Cheers

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
