Hey Guys,

I spoke with Stao from Hypergear for a turbo for my fairly stock RB30/25 and he sold me the ATR43 G2 with an .82 rear housing. So I went with it but after pulling the stock rb25 turbo, I am wondering i am going to get worth while gains.I see a lot of people putting ATR43 G3 on stock RB25's (with supporting mods). Am wondering if I am wasting my time fitting this turbo and should I be going for a G3?

GT30 on an RB30 would be quite fun. It would probly spool like a stock rb25 turbo on an rb25, but make power hehe.

Would the GT30 be a little on the small side though?

not quiet the same. stock 25 usually makes 12 odd psi by around 2500rpm i think. gt3076 on a 30det usually makes 1 bar by around 3500rpm. i wouldnt go any bigger for a street car

Wow that sucks. My GT30 makes 17psi earlier than that on a 25. lol

Go have a look @ the graph and see for yourself then :D

I cannot remember exactly, but its up and on early as!

Does taper off upper RPM, but that's to be expected as its making 330rwkw on PULP which is pretty much limits met

That is a pretty accurate description of what to expect. Cubic capacity gives a lot more torque at idle, turbo lights up early, and can blow hard to make a lot of stick. For road use the 0.82 housing is very good match, maybe a bit restrictive if you want to run for extended periods at high rpm ie. on the track. The GT3037 might be a superceded unit but it is a good thing.

i have driven al's car and I can tell you it is the most fun RB setup i have ever driven....

power everywhere! boost from like 2400 revs and just frys the tyres in any gear at any time.

I have a car that makes the same power as al's car (330 rwkw) out of a 25 and it's just a whole different ballgame. i wouldn't go any smaller.... but it's 1 KILLER setup

my GT35 on my 3L is that responsive, try 2500-3000 for a GT30

turbo not too small,

25/30, 330rwkw, 3076R.82 rear (atrG3 equiv)

Yeah i never meant it was too small as in the way the car drives, more like how the stock rb25 turbo is too small for that engine.

A .82 on an RB30 is awesome for drags and lurking on the street but i feel like the .82 would get a bit warm if you wanted to race it at full noise all the time. :)

That was a wicked launch. Hehe.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
