Anyone know if the trojan motorsport guys are on holidays or have shut up shop or what? I have tried ringing them a couple times a day for the past week or so and cant get a hold of them. My computer wont even log onto the website either, I just get an error message.

The number i used to call them was 6242 6277 which I got out of the whitepages and then confirmed with a couple of different websites through google.

Any info on the topic would be great!

Every shop has up and down stories. Autotech had a rough time a while back, though even recently there's quite a few people who will neve take their car back there.

Trojan did manage to fix and tune my car far better then CRD ever did, though CRD only had 4 weeks, where it took trojan 3 months.

Ultimates will do nistune if you have the software, you dont need a license for a once off tune, u can just download the program from their site and use it as a trial and next time u re tune just uninstall and re install again.

Never heard of ultimates. Where abouts are they?

I'm really keen on a nistune, but if there's only one place to get them tuned here then it's probably not the best option. It's a shame ESP doesn't do them as I have heard nothing but praise for there work...

 yes it is a shame.

I've asked and there deadset against NIStune. They will refer you to Autotech.

Did you end up getting a nistune or did you go something else?

When I talked to ESP about ecu upgrades such as the EMU (Which they said isn't great) the guy I talked to pretty much said my only option was haltech, which is overkill for my needs. I think they were trying to upsell because they make slot off them.

ESP is mainly Vipec and Haltech and they like em for good reason.

Although they say

"We are agents and tuners of ViPEC, Haltech, HP tuners VCM Suite, Herrod SCT Flash box, Wolf Ecu, Power FC, Emanage Ultimate and Blue. We also have a large amount of experience in Motec, Autronic and Microtech ECU’S"

Your after an Emanage Ultimate and I suspect they are right. I'm sure also their prefrence is with Haltech and Vipec as they are good and yes it may be more than you need.

So I suppose you have what you have and they should work with that.

Have you given much consideration to NIStune and Autotech if your on a budget and dont want/need all the bells and whistles of the Haltech, ViPEC (G4).

Ive been looking for about 6 months fo an ecu upgrade for my 32 gtst... Very hard to find.

Basically you are limited to what can be tuned in Canberra (who can do it).

Ive found theres Haltech $3200, several tuners; or Nistune $1200 only one place (Auototech hume)

Or some piggyback rip off crud... plenty of them.

I know Nistune is technically piggyback but it gets good reviews so im getting that.

I cant get an Apexi fc for mine, but you can for the 33, but i dunno if anyone here can tune it well.

Critical decision, take your time, ring the mechanics, make a good choice. Good luck.

Yeh $3200 installed and tuned was what ESP told me as well for the haltech. Im sure they are great, but when im only trying to get to 260rwkw at the most, it seems unnecessary and would mean i have to compromise in other places to stay within the amount im willing to spend altogether.

Ive done heaps of research and was leaning towards the EMU before the negative reviews from local tuners and am now pretty much set on the nistune with the z32 ecu for my 33gtst. Mainly because it is able to do everything I want and is comparably cheaper. The only downside to it is there being really only one place that installs and tunes them, which means i would have to get all my other upgrades put on there as well. Plus autotech is ages away from my house and i havent heard anything much about the places in terms of quality of work etc...

Nistune nistune nistune do it.

I spent days and hours upon hours researching it.

Just say stfu to local tuners and go to Sydney.

Also go the 32 Ecu with a window switch to control VCT

People might say keep it local but really?

Cheaper and possibly better tune you can't go wrong heading up to Sydney.

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
