when you get a HKS exhaust and it says Jasma that means its considered road legal in japan

atleast AFAIK anyway, not like any of us have a japanese handbook to rules and regs lol

elrodeo666 could probably clarify if he saw this

I can't get the link I'm on my iPhone it is the type of mani I'm looking for puts the turbo between cil 1 and 2 also has a external waste port it all seems good made from 304 stainless 2.5mm thick. I was going to make one for my sr but this looks the goods even has a t3 t4 flange

yeah, I know they make those fancy manifolds tuned lenght cause it helps with spool up times etc..

But I have been wondering lately if log style made to roughly the same dimensions as the stock manifold but with larger ports/runners .

If it would actually flow better than the stock cast item ..You,d think it would have to flow as well at least..

you could mount the turbo up on a bit of an angle and have the gate path flow out underneath it..

here this will get ya started.. :)

How much power/boost are you after, if your thinking of a log style manifold i would assume not much, maybe look into extractors and rear/remote mount the turbo, would make things a lot simpler and it would hied the turbo.

yeah thats another idea..

But why couldnt you boost it with a log??

stock mani does alright with 20psi..sometimes more

You mean stock turbo manifold or stock non turbo manifold?

The flow would slowed for a log style manifold at high boost (even at low boost but not as much), if you do a log style and then upgrade to a proper turbo manifold you will notice boost being made a lot easier and quicker with a proper styled turbo manifold V's log style, if you have the know how and tools to make a proper manifold then do it that way, if not i would go extractors and rear mount, i personally wouldnt bother with a log manifold unless its something you have sitting there and a dump pipe to suit.

I want the turbo sitting between cil 1 and 2 as there is not much room because of abs unit in the BMW for my td06 to sit. I made up a cad drawing of what I think would work well I'm not after massive power all be happy with 260 same power that was in my 32 I'm hoping full boost by 4200 18 psi. The design I'm looking at making will be the sr20 manifold reversed the turbo will sit up top allowing the gate to run underneath the mani so hiding from the unknown eye. Basically if I was to cut the flange off a stock manifold and turn it over that's ideal for me but to hard to controll being cast

Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
