Hi All,

I was very excited about this new Iphone app called dynolicious. Unfortunately for me I only have an ipad (with some difficulty holding it vertical weged between the center console and some misc items - :) umbrella works well actually) so I used that instead and this is what I got after quite a bit of fooling around and some testing.

settings were: 1450kg , drive train loss 25%, roll-out 1inch (how sensitive is a real drag strip - i.e before it senses your reaction time vs star time), dollout distance (12 inches - default value - is this an unfair start?) (trigger 0.1G)

Car is a stock r34gtt auto - would up the boost to about 14 psi - no other mods.

Is this G of 0.65 accurate - can anybody confirm?

How would a similar car with manual trans perform?

What should I expect from an IC & 3 inch exhaust, should I also do fuel pump and EBC.

My only complaint is that I think the Kw are out of whack, I was expecting around 230kw. Has anybody else tried dynolicous and if so what settings have you used.

I think its pretty much on the money as I did a 14.71 quarter at a real drag strip with the same set-up.

The point was that Dynolicious and similar software is fairly accurate and if there was anyone out there that has used it.

Most of the replies so far strike as either young and immature or just immature.<br class="Apple-interchange-newline">

Your approach to testing the power of your car strikes me as childish. I can go and say, "I dyno'd my car yesterday with my Iphone, got 300kw, fck yeh (self hi 5)"

Or

"Went and got my car dyno'd today at blahblah, car pulled a good 300kw with nice power curve and AFR's, boost was steady, car's looking pretty good"

Which phrase do you prefer?! Or do you prefer peak power reading other than power curve? I know which one wins races.

i think what would be cool is if the car dynod 200kw and the app showed 200kw, i would be impressed. more so if it was consistently accurate against lots of cars. that would be really cool.

but using it to determine how much power your car has, instead of being impressed with what an iphone can do, a liiiiitte silly.

one day im sure this technology will totally be possible. but right now i dont think we should fuss over the very first sign of such a thing :)

P.S. 206kw for your described setup is probably a little overstated. Maybe at the flywheel.

I've got a copy of it but never have really been able to test it properly :(

The app to be accurate needs to be mounted with a good mount, otherwise movement completely throws off the calculation.

One friend claimed reasonable results with it, I'm skeptical.

To actually use it 0-100 or 1/4 mile you need to be in a straight line and start from a dead stop. On freeways you can't exactly stop so I've never done 0-100 properly :)

      This car has run before on this z32 ecu can get the part number for you, I have tried with no AFM it didn’t change anything, I compression tested today 140-150 across all 6 cylinders, also set fuel pressure to 43psi. The only weird thing was cylinder 1 plug was black and fouled other 5 cylinders were just wet with fuel. Spun cas by hand and confirmed injectors are clicking

      A 1.5 way is a 2 way. It is just a 2 way with a less aggressive ramp on overrun.

      The ABS and/or TCS being missing/broken will not cause the engine to misbehave. It just casues CEL to come on and annoy you. The CEL is useless if it is always on, so you have to do the things you have to do to get rid of it, so it can be useful. Being a Stag ECU, then yes, it will not expect TCS to be present. But it will expect ABS to be present and working. You will need to either make the ABS CU talk to the ECU (don't ask me what that will take on an NA R34), and make sure the hardware is working....or, you just need to blank it out in Nistune. Do not persist with the stock ECU. You will just have problems. Gte it Nistuned. Start from there. DO YOU HAVE A BOOST SENSOR? The ECU's boost sensor that it. It is connected to the loom at the rear of the coil cover. Usually rides on the firewall on an R34, but is usually bolted down to a bracket along with all the other crap at the back of the coil cover when a Neo is dropped into another car. If you do not have it, the ECU will shit the bed. So, do you have one?

      So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...
