Prob should update this.

The last few weeks its copped two new 044's. My primary feed pump wasn't playing ball do they both went. As a result, my idle is grumpy and my cold start is junk due to the increased fuel pressure at idle. It goes in tomorrow to get this fixed up and chucked on the dyno for a quick health check before these track days coming up.

It also copped two new front drive shafts as I did a boot on each side. The passenger one was clicking. Grease everywhere!!!!

Ordered some new brake pads. These 2500's just won't cut it. Damn heavy whale!

New front diff oil yesterday.

Coolant bleed.

New engine oil tonight ready for dyno thrashes!

Having front sway bars link washers turned up. ATM, the front isn't connected. It's a tad taily but it makes it interesting!

Good to see what u get and how much boost u going to run on the -5

The most we have run is 28 psi IIRC. A graph is here a few pages earlier. I normally just leave it at 25 psi.

Let it be known I have experienced this car and it was a dead set ballistic missile.

Gears would wind out in the normal 'extremely fast car' manner, but each gear would account for a lot more than the usual 'fast car' speeds. IIRC 3rd gear was well over 180kmh and it got there like it had tiny short ratio. The most amazing part was the brakes, powering through 4th with less than 100m to stop I had to seriously consider if this was the end, but the car didn't even break a sweat.

Paul, your car really got me buzzing, I couldn't stand still when I got out. Cheers.

now that's the kind of feed back I like to hear :)

Hopefully u can get that fuel issue sorted out Paulie.....sounds like a bit of a pain it I'm sure it will be fixed.

Would love to see track footage of the sperm whale in action

It's just a quick adjust to a few cells. All good

I'll have a few vids of this coming Tuesday.

Awesome, look forward to hearing how the tidy up goes :)

Agreed with GTScoTT - best all around GTR I have experienced, I said it at the time... but I was looking forward to seeing how the -5s and 28 (along with cam choice etc etc) worked together but what actually REALLY wowed me was just how well put together the entire car was, and those brakes! Fantastic car, would be a weapon on the track :)

    • Thanks for the linkie. Certainly always a great deal of help when people post comparisons like these, but I think for now I'll stay away from any semi slicks. I did go ahead and order the sportcontact 7. My buddy has them on his modified A4 and he keeps saying how good they are. For my intended purposes these will probably work real well. I'll report on them once I had the chance to try them out
    • Talk about noisy. Even when I still had the Tomei under the car I could distinctly hear the tires rolling. And I doubt I ever will need maximum grip like on a track. My GTR will maybe never even see the 600hp mark and I need to get used to the car quite a bit before challenging the limits of its handling. For the next winter storage I think I will get a set of these rubber drive-on thingies that have a tire shaped base. Those supposedly really help prevent flat spots.
    • Well our climate is definitely way less hot overall and the weather can be quite picky at times. I just know that during normal road use or even spirited drives there is no way I'd be able to consistently stay in the operating temperature, and constantly changing the tire pressure would also be a royal pain.
    • Input shaft bearing. They all do it. There is always rollover noise in Nissan boxes - particularly the big box. Don't worry about it unless it gets really growly.
    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
