My 2c, I use the 29s and love them, 2500s I really don't like - upsets many when you say it, they feel like blocks of wood compared to the pagids. Have a heap of bite and feel all through the temp range.

This is track car only though, for the street the pagids are much better behaved though, the 2500 need temp before they quieten down and brake properly.

The pagids for me when cold only make a little tinkle - very quiet, 2500s on our Evo you see people winding up windows and peds hands over ears!

I believe the 29s are an evolution of the 19 or am I mistaken?

Paul,

I didn't think the 2500's were an issue on the street. Worked straight out of the driveway. I was a little concerned about the RS19's being a bit annoying when cold but you say the opposite si that's great!

The guy I spoke to said the RS29's offer a bit more initial bite but all in all they're the same pad.

I will report back.

Not coming to DECA?

Nah they keep organising it same weekend as targa high country so can't make it. Was looking forward to drooling over you car! Spewin

On the 2500s, now I think about it they were actually better with that Alcon kit you have - I had the same kit on my 32, not so nice on the evo. Still pagids all the way for me!

Ah damn :(.

Interesting about the pads with that kit. They don't seem to like too much heat. I have left the rears as is considering the size of the rear rotor (350 mm). I can always change them later on if it feels unbalanced.

So, after Tuesday, it looks like I have broken or bent a tooth in second gear.

Time for another aftermarket gearbox.

PPG straight cut dog box? The OS 5 speed doesn't cut it! :(

it doesn't cut it????

How or more importantly why dud it break

Dunno why it broke.

I pulled the boost down to 1.5 bar (minimum I can run). Came in second session and second gear was knocking. Terry at award thinks its a bent or broken gear.

Dunno when I'm gonna pull it out. I'm a bit heart broken ATM.

    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
    • Sorry I meant that we are building the EH for a client.
    • LOL, when one "money pit" is never enough Noice, and excellent work mate
    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
