I used to love my old Turbosmart Supersonic, had a cool schh schh schh sound between a vent and a dose. Problem was though, literally EVERY time I got pulled over, the cops would either pick on or notice it.

Ended up going to an ARC which I also had VTA, didnt sound bad either. This was due to my cooler piping not being stock and not having anywhere to recirc to and my own laziness in not rectifing this lol.

Also wasn't running a MAF ;)

Bahahahahaha. Lol. I'm sorry this thread is awesome makes my day so much better reading it.

Dude! You obviously want an atmo bov so go on YouTube or go check out George street of a sat night.

That is all dot dot dot dot.

I only changed mine to a Turbosmart Raceport when I went to single turbo and also ViPec ems. Getting rid of that also gave my oil cooler a home. I'm a fan of the standard GTR valves as they are proven and work well.

I just needed some extra space ;) lol

Hey Fellas, Serious question.. If someone had to run a haltech ecu which eliminates the purpose of the standard afms... would that make a aftermarket BOV work ok?

I've got a R32 GTR, Standard BOV's and near stock... Not intending on changing my bov's either they sound good and cops cant f**k me up but was just curious hey

thanks !

Yes that's fine.

I wonder why so many people dont do it then if its going to make the difference between making your car run like shit and making it run fine...

ah well.. thanks for the response man :)

Read this 4 times still no understand

You wonder why they don't change it

Or you wonder why people do it

Sorry it was regarding the haltech i spoke about.

if say you were to run one and it would make your car run good with aftermarket bov's then why dont people do it rather then just chucking a aftermarket bov with standard afm which leads to dramas.

Well they aren't exactly cheap lol.

Most people that run atmo bov's either don't know the problems they can cause, or they aren't reallyyyyyyyy that interested in performance and so wouldn't spend a lot of money on an ECU with capabilities like a Haltech. Just judging by appearance, most people I can see who ask about running atmo bov's on here tend to be all about the image of fast cars. They like the noises and the appearance, but don't want to spend the money to make it all work properly.

Not saying everybody who runs an atmo bov is in that category. Just an observation.

Very True.

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
