fly333
Hi my mate is wondering if his stock r33 can run 100 octane that has ethanol in it? He is taking it to dyno tomorrow and would like to know if he should fill up on 100 octane from united? Btw just wondering would it corrode his fuel pump and lines? R31Nismoid
Bear in mind, you'd be better off getting it tuned on 98, otherwise it'll always need to run that specific fuel. I've noticed at time United to run out of their 100. I use it, but i adjust the tune at the same time when i do Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/399499-united-100-octane/#findComment-6345777 Share on other sites

Jetdat
Fair enough well ill get it tuned to 100, will it be ok if i am using standard ecu? nice oxymoron there, you cant tune standard R33 ecu unfortunately. i have been using 100 octane for about 7 years, daily driver, but i have PFC thats tuned to 100 by the master tuner, i love the stuff. R31Nismoid
Fair enough well ill get it tuned to 100, will it be ok if i am using standard ecu? First it was your mate, and now it's you? As stated - cannot be done on a standard ECU. It's a waste of time. gtsttrk
I love it, very good mileage off it and great power. Idles very well and runs smoothly. Used to only use BP premium but started running the 100. Get a nistune and you'll be loving it. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/399499-united-100-octane/#findComment-6346090 Share on other sites
R31Nismoid
How do you get better mileage with 10% ethanol? You need to use more fuel of it to get the benefits from it. Simlar to E85, but on a lesser scale of course Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/399499-united-100-octane/#findComment-6346100 Share on other sites
joeyjoejoejuniorshabadoo
if you just have a standard ecu and no safc/sitc/emanage then I hope someone isn't charging you for a "tune" Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/399499-united-100-octane/#findComment-6346148 Share on other sites
blind_elk
Sorry for hijacking - what about using United Plus (regular E10) - its only 95 octane, but it's 4c/L cheaper than regular 91 octane. I'v got a Wolf, so I could retune if necessary. Since I generally don't nail the car, could I safely cruise around on E10. xALmoN
actually i see no big difference in mileage when i use united 100 vs bp ultimate, or shell vpower or the caltex 98, so i just use whatever.
