20m further UP the hill.....don't you mean further DOWN the hill? It's already at the top of the crest so you don't have big speed for the jump - or do you mean the chicane just as you exit the canyon?

I mean the 3rd set could have been further up the hill, (the set before the set on top of the hill). Certainly not suggesting any more cones.

When going hard I was in 4th gear between the 3rd and 4th sets of cones, no other section was that long and fast, and considering the nature of the road, it was probably one of the more dangerous areas at high speed.

But this is only a personal opinion and just an area that I felt unsettled the car. The set out of the cones was well done overall.

I rescued 2 parts of 2 runs from the corrupted video files:

1/ it is probably a good idea to make sure there is some coolant in the car before running:

2/ the quick run, but the bloody video is cut off about 2/3 through

I vote more chicanes! Suits the micra better :P

I agree! It keeps the GT-Rs modest! :P

another boat doing its thing below. Was this supposed to be a time attack grip event?

if so no one told Matt or i...

I understeered straight through the last chicane so I had already failed at getting a good time at that point, so I figured I may as well put on a show :P

Good news people; I will be making another booking at Sutton.

Not sure of the date yet of course but don't miss it (there will be at least 2 months notice).

Also we will be more stringent on leaks, so please be mindful of that. There was oil leaks on the start line so anyone with that fix it now

Same here, saw Eiji out there and decided to get on the gas a little early as i came out of the two corners after the jump, very very easy way to provoke oversteer i discovered. Almost made up for being so far down the timing sheet, will definitely be back for the next one to see if i can get into the 130's!

Entering the burnout comp again? :woot:

Hahahaa you saw that huh??

Hardly what I'd call an epic burnout..........I fell to the Fatz's peer pressure, he is a bad influence.

I do need to learn how to launch properly, it's never been my strong point.

Was awesome :D

And don't worry, I couldn't launch mine with a high flow so I got NO chance with the 3037 ;)

i was told to wait till i was at high revs before dropping the clutch before doing my last run, i think i was smoking the rears all the way to the first set of cones..feltgoodman.jpg

well, I surely know who was leaking water, and that won't happen again

That launch was somewhere around 4-5k but looks like it failed when I tried to grab second gear, as I said I still need more practice :(

    • How dare you sell your unreliable Skyline and buy a reliable, Toyota/Yamaha car with a strong gearbox, torsen LSD and Toyota reliability. At least you won't need to worry about oil pumps, big catch can, oil restrictors, blowing off power steering belts, sheering off 3rd gear, failing ABS relays/pumps, etc.
    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
