I don't really know, I havnt heard back from the guy I baught them off

Havnt touched the old 33 for a few days as I've just moved to ballarat

It got it's first big drive from albury to ballarat 450 km and didn't miss a beat

Looking into ideas for the wide rear end still do I buy a kit or flare

Anyways near future should bring answers

Are they a reliable setup

Stock rb25 on e85 300-350kw as reliable as it gets, easiest cheapest option. Go the 30 if you want moretorque but personally i cant fault mystock 25 with 320 in my drift car.

I was thinking that

I baught a set of 1000 cc injectors and was planning on tuning it to e85 and leaving it at that until it pops

In still building an engine but it but it will be done over the rest of the year so it won't destroy the pocket

Time to attempt the gaurd rolling today let's see how it goes :)

Ye thats best way drop a stock 25 in get the car going then take your time build whatever you want. E85 good tune , change oil after every track day it will last ages, mines been going for 2.5years so far on e85 and a year on 98 beforethat.

RHD have widened rear fenders, think from memory 1200 shipped but I might be wrong. Same as standard but flared. Look good. Think D Max also do a widened rear pair too.

1200 that's big coin you can get gtr style wide guards in melb for under 500

Really? Where from mate? Not doubting you , just interested for my own build! PM if you don't wanna post in here.

I'm guessing like anything cheap means lower quality

For for what Im doing that's all il need

Something that's relatively cheap also makes it Easyer on the pocket once

You brake it as if I broke a $1200 gaurd by kissing the wall my mrs would be chasing me down

the main straight with the tyre iron

Ah yeah I've seen those ones! I almost bought them a few months ago, but was unsure of how they'd line up, I'd they'd need filler, and lots of work to line up!

If you get them let us know how they fit!

  • 3 months later...

Haha just saw your reply...few months later lol!

Did you en up getting these fitted? Or weren't they any good?

Guess what I was getting at with lots of work is that often by using cheaper parts lots of modification is needed to fit them. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a genuine 400r front, no modification was needed at all. Lined up on a dummy fit first time! So yeah, the price difference can be a big thing, but most times I'd rather spend the extra coin (if I can afford to) and reduce the labour/fitting times. In my opinion.

    • Hi everyone, I've been wrestling with this for a while now and have been trying to find out the cause. For context, the turbos used are Garrett 2860 -5s, the BOV is a BNR32 HKS SSQV IV kit, the car is currently tuned to ~470 whp on 17.5 psi. The car drives normally, pulls well when it doesn't happen, and I can replicate it fairly easily. It does not sound like turbo shuffle or flutter. The engine has only a thousand or so miles and has had this behavior since it was completed. After my engine was built for my R32 GTR, I noticed that the car now sometimes makes an air discharge sound on what appears to be positive boost pressure that sounds really similar to a BOV. I had thought that it was a BOV issue but even when replacing it with a brand new unit, the sound persisted. It seems like it's coming from the passenger side but I may be mistaken. The closest scenario I could find was this post here https://www.gtr.co.uk/threads/maybe-a-boost-leak-opinions.147955/https://www.gtr.co.uk/threads/maybe-a-boost-leak-opinions.147955/ started by @yakshii and it sounds very similar. As in, at partial throttle once I reach positive boost I begin to hear the same psh psh psh psh psh sound like air is leaking somewhere when I keep the throttle in the same position. It most commonly happens in 4th gear at around 3-3.5k RPM and 5th gear around 2.5-3k RPM, which seems to coincide with normal positive boost thresholds. It might be similar to what @Austrian GTR mentioned about his own HKS SSQV. Notable difference would be that when he applies more throttle when it happens, it stops. In my scenario if I apply more throttle during this repeated psh psh psh sound, the cadence of the sound gets faster and louder rather than stopping. If I lift off slightly and apply throttle again, it will normally stop and pull without issue. I've checked all rubber couplers to ensure that they are tight, but have not gotten the opportunity to properly do a pressurized boost leak test. If anyone has had similar experiences or thoughts on what might be the cause, I'd be very keen to hear them. I also have a video of it happening from inside the cabin, if that would make it easier to understand: https://youtu.be/2zqZXcx8jbA
    • I'd want at least $40K for mine, but thats easy to say cos I'm not selling anyway.
    • That's incorrect. We have 4 seasons, consisting of pre winter, winter, post winter and a small glimpse of hope!
