Think I Have Chosen My Wheels

I have been looking around at wheels as I am going to be replacing my stockies.

But the 1.1.1 in 18 x 9.5.

They have a couple of offsets available, and I don't really understand tyre offsets. I want to fill the guards nicely on my R33 GTR.

The fitments listed are:

18x9.5 +12 5x114.3

18x9.5 +22 5x114.3

18x9.5 +30 5x114.3

Thoughts?

My preference would be +12

Google offset calculator and s link to tyres101 should come up, use that to figure out what you want

Your standard rims are 9" +30

+12 is the offset you'd be after mate, otherwise I reckon they'll look sweet

Yes, I just asked the guy what offset they were as he only has one set left and they are +12's.

If I were you odd consider going 19"...18" just doesn't appear to fill the 33 gtr guards enough

Yeah not a huge fan of the big wheel look in terms of wheel diametre.

I prefer 18's and the car slightly lowered.

+12 is definitely what you need. Anything else would just look weak

Dang! I got 18x9.5" +20's and they are flush on the stag. I get stone chips on the edge of the rear lip haha

Cause even though IMO they look awesome, my +15s are certainly not flush.

Finally getting the guards fixed properly, damn paint flaked from the guard rolling.

Just wondering if these would fit and if so thoughts on what they would look like given they are only 18 x 8's?

Nope won't fit, wrong stud pattern. Skylines (well, likely most Nissan 5-studs) are 5x114.3mm (someone confirm that)

Also that offset+width combination would look terrible in my opinion. The stock standard R33 GT-R rims are 9" wide and +30 offset, which means they're both 1 inch wider and the edge will sit ~17mm further out than the above rims.

yeah thats what I thought regarding the width.

I am heading out tomorrow to Fyshwick to look at some wheels tomorrow.
