EVENT THREAD

We are trying to attract new members to our awesome event. It is the best entry level event which im sure many people will attest to below. One of the biggest things we have found with new entrants is that they are unsure of what to expect and therfore do not enter so we will try to dispel some of the myths:

FAQ's:

Q: Is this event good for someone with no experience?

A: This is the BEST first event. You will learn SO much about car control! If you are thinking about entering track days it is highly recomended that you enter a DECA to get the basics of car control.

Q: What do i need to do to my car to enter?

A: Basically you need to bolt in a fire extinguisher and have the car in a track worthy condition. More details can be found on the entry form.

Q: Does it matter what kind of car i drive?

A: Previously, the field has consisted of everything under the sun from stock family cars through to high end euro race cars. You DO NOT need 'power' to have fun or be competitive.

Q: What licence do i need?

A: The most basic licence requirement is a AASA 'club racing licence'. This costs $50 per year.

Q: Is it hard on my car?

A: Hardly. Most runs go for less than a minute. Surprisingly there is little wear on tyres. However, you are able to give your car a harder time if you choose ;).

Q: Is it competitive?

A: The event is all about fun. Events are timed and there is some fun rivalries however a lot of people just enter for the social side and the fun of driving.

Q: What if i dont know anyone?

A: Everyone was once in this position. We are all friendly, like minded people so it will take no time to make some great friends and contacts.

Q: Can you take passengers?

A: Simple answer is yes. There are some requirements and a disclaimer.

Q: Is it expensive?

A: No. This is the cheapest value for money motorsport event you can enter. It is low impact on your car, does not use much fuel and entry is cheap. SAUVic do not run this event to make a profit.

Q: What else goes on?

A: Most people come up to Shepparton on the Friday night. Saturday night it is somewhat of a tradition to go out for dinner then head out drinking. Its not a requirement and plenty of people simply make it a day trip but its a great social weekend if you do choose to stay.

Thats a bargain!

Everyone thats 'thinking' of doing DECA ends like this - "that looks like fun, i should have just entered"

Myself included ... I had nothing to worry about as all the people at DECA are really nice and I learnt a heap on car control and got me hooked on track days (and coming back to deca)

DECA is only half the fun....! The other half of the fun is to be had socialising back at the caravan park! Talk cars, get tips, have a drink, make new freinds and have another drink!!

LOL Age - how awesome is marriage??? :)

Imagine all the cool stuff you are going to miss in years to come due to that "anniversary" thing!!!

Marriage is great.... first the Engagement Ring, then the Wedding Ring and now i get the Suffer Ring :whistling:

There better not be another DECA on/around the 10th of September!!! :/:P

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
