How much fun I had:

Words cannot describe how much fun I had. I was very very excited leading upto it and it by far exceeded all my expectations.

What I learned:

1. HOW TO TAKE TURN 1!!! - That was a very big off but I am glad that I got them all out of my system @ the first trackday so now I know what not to do. I'm disappointed that I did it so close to Steve Bullin but it was great that Daz, Carlo and Steve were all very supportive of me :P

2. WINDOWS UP!!!!! - everyone saw my interior

3. Duncan is a champion!!! (more than he was before :P) without him I wouldn't have learned as much as I did

What I need to work on:

Braking & heel-toeing. Although by the end of the day I was using the ABS less, I was using it alot coming into the horseshoe and turn 10. I was also compression locking into 2nd alot too..

Better tyres and suspension setup will fix this. You will probably find that your front end is too stiff or too low.

Its funny, my experience was almost identical Tosh. Turn 1 looks ominous and seeing the speeds that some of the GTR's approach it made me somewhat nervous but after a couple of laps you get the feel for it and begin improve your line/speed.

1 big off that I had was unfortunately also with the window down and my interior was caked in brown dust.

I would have liked to have had duncan passengering for a few laps but the car wasnt behaving well at all so I called it a day.

Looking forward to the next one :(

hahaha what is it about turn 1 and MR2s spinning :(

actually I did a few laps in tush's MR2 and I was very impressed, its got great turn in, and traction out of corners. - you do have to be careful under brakes but it was certainly not the super spin-ey car that some people claim.

Shame that Ben kept chopping us on the straight tho :)

Welcome to Team Trackday guys ;)

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
