Yeah was a good day - Best time I got was 1:16 flat. Thought I might do better as the day went on but un-fortunately headache returned and called it a day at 3:00ish.

Commiserations to :

1) John for B-Manning his motor.

2) The guy I met with the nice GTiR (sorry can't remember your name) - Who also B-Manned his motor.

I can genuinely say - that I know how you feel :(

B-Man's motor survived yet another track day - Yay ! :D

Must do something about the standard brakes next - I feel ... Chris, Chris...hello :)

Post more pics all ! :)

Those Soarers were a bit how's your Father - hey ?? Nice looking and sounding, but theu didn't like going around corners.

There were some seriously quick MR2's there. (Sorry not your's Nick)

And two awsome GTRs that were doing 1.07's I think.

Was a good day.

Thanks to John and all the UAS crew.

Cheers,

Interesting day, gotta be the most retirements i've ever seen at a trackday for such a low-end track (hope my name isn't added to that list after tomorrow).

Good luck with the rebuild John

What an awesome day, I had a blast sliding the MR2 around on arguably the most pathetic tyres around.

Good to see such a fantastic selection of cars hitting the track, just a damn shame about Johns car especially considering all the hard work that went into preparing the car.

Oh well, there is always next time hey John

Second session for it , I think.

The high tensile stud that holds one of the cam belt idler pulleys sheared straight off. So the valves stopped working but the bottom end kept going - ooops. John was very disappointed - But he can rebuild it !

I had major traction problems too. That's a much tighter course than Eastern Creek. Got a bit of 4 wheel drift action going on later in the day which was fun. (Duncan my witness :))

Have to say I don't think I was the only one who was confused by what was going on in the middle of the day. I sat there waiting for the turbo sixes and V8's to be called out and it didn't happen. It was a mixed session. The wind blew away the words from the loudspeakers a bit which didn't help.

Also the white 33 GTR that was with our group rather than the GTR group and a red 32 GTR at different times both took me under brakes into the hairpin before the straight which people were specifically told not to do. That's ****ing dangerous and the way that people get T-Boned you ****sticks.

Where was the flag for these people? Also what was with the control of people coming out of the pits. I saw one close one.

Yeah - I'm a bit with you on this one Adam. I vote for consistant class/categories next time.

I went out the first and second times and knew who was who when I was diving around. Then in 3rd session I saw one of those well set up MR2s in my rear vision mirror, trying to overtake my round the twisties. - I just let him go - But man, I didn't think they were in our class. And secondly I thought rules were rules - no overtaking round the twisties (unless the other car was going really really slow) - I thought that bit was a bit dangerous.

But all in all, I had some fun and the car survived so all good.

good to see everyone had fun

OK OK Zed went great for 8 laps flat out and did a 108.9 and at high revs snapped a stud that holds an idler pulley on the passengers ( load side of the motor ) and kissed valves and day over. We will now be drilling and tapping and using a high tensile 12mm stud to prevent this happening in the future. I did miss a gear and revved it off the clock as grabbed second instead of fourth.

I :Bang: suspect it would have been very close to the Gibson powered GTR who was timed at a second or so better, if motor was still going later in the day.

BLA BLA I here, anyway I congratulated Geoff from SSS Automotive who had a tough sounding GTR my zed does sound crap now with the larger exhaust housings, so will change to dual exhuast and quieten it also. I have told him I will give him a case of beer.

Did Merli or anyone get a pic of all the Skyline Guys pushing the zed on the trailer would have been a classic.

Times will be up on our site next day or so.

Next Track Day is Sunday September 12 at Oran. ZED will be BACK.

:Bang:

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
