My Thoughts are....

Its about damn fkn time!!!

im so sick of the current ICE models atm with laggy ass screens and touchscreens that dont work properly or even some decent gui layouts.

The sizing is really close to normal double dinn standard .

Only a matter of time before adapters get made for mass markets.

Im keen to fit one in the GTT.

Thoughts?

I like it.

Chris, could you set something up.

I already have generic fibreglass mounts available , carbon is a well

Ipad full size fit in gtt fine

Ipad minis even easier

with factory look

where the hell would u fit the normal ipads on the gtt? i think itll be abit overkill D:

if someone makes ipad mini mounts for the gtt , ill buy it... for sure

The ipad 2 fits just fine in stock radio location with customization ( perm mount) you could make it slide out near drivers legs without drama , not graceful but doable, I have a spare dash and have tested it already

The mini would pop right in with minimal fuss

Dont have a mini or i would build one

The mini would fit in popup dash as well

wonder if its possible to grab a ipad mini model version , like ones of those fakie mobile phones

I know doug and the other guys in the video , they will have generic ipad mini pans for sale and would send one down if anyone wants one?

ipad mini isnt on my radar since ipad fits in gtt and has a bigger screen ,

its not a big deal to mold one , just takes time and a mini to use?? it would fit older skylines ??

for those wondering the ipad fits in the factory radio hole behind the factory dash contour and butts up to the ac controls fine

Some shifter surround mods and remolding but in my case I cut out the ashtray and lighter and ripped apart and recast 3 gauges flush fit in the spot instead

In carbon lol

No need for smoking items

tbh, i think having the original ipad would be a lil bit overkill n i'd prefer to keep the stock smokers try n kit just to keep it looking original n flush.

just my opinion , retina display would be madness tho =D

got any pics of ur finished product with the normal ipad mould?

These guys did a mini within 2 hrs of release!

The sell all the parts you need to DIY also, incl the moulded pans etc.

I dont have the ipad dash in my car its mocked up on the bench , i have thought about popping it in my car but my current setup rebuild plans would need tweeking , it would be a downgrade on some cases

I do have some mock up photos on my laptop i think showing the process to refinish the dash etc

lots of build log photos etc just havent had time to publish it

you could keep the ashtray etc just i'm a serious hater of smokers lol

Bought a smoke free car from japan which is a miracle to find lol

Sure chris I'll dig up some photos of fitment on the bench think the car test fit ones are still on the camera

The parts are all over ebay same ones as the phone uses ???

Those guys had it in 2 hrs not a big deal if you know what your doing its as fast as the resin dries speed wise? but i would prefer to think it out and make it perfect not a wart on the dash

    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
