what a shame.

Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel teamed up with Michael Schumacher to win the sixth consecutive Race of Champions Nations' Cup victory for Team Germany.

In the semi-finals, the Germans beat Team Australia, who were represented by V8 Supercar champion Jamie Whincup and five-time 500cc motorcycle champion Mick Doohan.

The Germans survived a major scare against the Aussies when Vettel crashed into the barrier driving the 570bhp Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo before recovering to win.

But he is a nice guy and it would have been nice to see if he just needed time...but he has proven he isn't as even as good as Fisi etc who are quick on their day. Petrov put him to shame which really only showed that Trulli was past it, despite being mega quick when he was younger

Kamui Kobayashi has conceded his chances of landing a seat in Formula 1 for next season are over.

The Japanese driver had been pushing hard to secure the funding that would have landed him a drive at one of the teams that still has vacancies.

He had set up a website to help raise funding from fans, as well as making progress with more traditional sponsorship avenues.

But despite raising almost 8 million Euro, Kobayashi wrote on his website on Monday night that it was not enough to earn him a drive for 2013, and his focus was now on making a return in 2014.

"I was in the position to bring a budget of 8 million Euro at least," wrote Kobayashi about the big support he had received from fans.

"If you could imagine the time I had, it was [an] overwhelming reaction and it shows there still is a great potential from Japanese companies.

"Unfortunately, the time was still short and I am not able to secure the seat with [a] competitive F1 team for 2013.

"I have to admit that it is very sad and feel sorry for fans and Japanese companies who supported me. But I am still confident to make it happen in 2014."

Kobayashi said the money that had been raised would be saved for his 2014 efforts, and made it clear that he was not interested in racing in any category other than F1.

"I start to look [at] what is the best option for 2013 and also 2014," he said. "My main priority is to secure the competitive F1 seat in 2014. I have no interests to race any other categories.

"I will make an announcement as soon as I make a decision for 2013."

Max Chilton has signed to drive for Marussia next season, BBC Formula 1 chief analyst Eddie Jordan says.

Chilton's promotion from reserve driver to race seat was predicted by Jordan at the Singapore Grand Prix in September.

Jordan says the deal has now been signed and the 21-year-old will become the fourth British driver on the grid for 2013, alongside Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and Paul di Resta.

Marussia have not yet formally announced Chilton's position.

Last month Frenchman Charles Pic opted to swap Marussia for rivals Caterham next year and Chilton, who finished fourth with two victories in the GP2 series in 2012, will partner experienced German Timo Glock.

The Reigate-born driver had his first experience of an F1 car on a race track when he drove for Marussia in first practice at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

That followed a 'straight-line' aerodynamic test earlier in the year.

Marussia finished 11th in the constructors' championship in 2012, losing out on 10th place at the final race of the season in Brazil to Caterham - but having struggled in their first two seasons in 2010 and 2011, closing the gap on Caterham represented conspicuous progress for the Banbury-based team.

    • Agreed, I've never seen a 260RS specific manual. As GTSBoy said it will mostly be stagea other than the engine loom https://www.hgeconsulting.com.au/stageaservicemanual.pdf
    • You'lll likely have to make do with R33 GTR for engine/tranny stuff, and Stagea for the body. I don't know that there's even been an actual diagram seen in the wild.
    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
