I was in the Brabham stand too and thought it was Bottas going off...though it was Pastor who finally beached it.

In other news after looking at the Mazda stand I want an RX7 SP rather badly. Would look sick next to my Sierra :)

..and on other other news...Webber had no KERS for the first half of the race. So sorry Mark for abusing you from the stands for not being able to get the job done on Button

Nico Rosberg has revealed that it was an electrical problem that caused his W04 to stop during Sunday's Australian GP.

Australian GP: Webber hit by telemetry, KERS issues

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner revealed that the issues were caused by the McLaren-supplied standard ECU.

"Mark's problems were hugely frustrating as it was an ECU issue that is supplied by a third party - I will let you guess who that is," he said.

"So we lost all telemetry on the formation lap and then you cannot do the preparation you need to for the start, and then he is in the blind for the start.

"That ECU issue shut the KERS down as well. By the time we had reset the whole system, obviously he had lost the start and lost ground.

"It is something they need to get on top of as there have been a lot of issues in testing.

"It was nothing to do with Mark today."

what happened to getting a two door r31?

I think you will find an amazing number of drivers who win in Aus go on to win the WDC. From there the constructor that wins in Aus normally goes on to seal the deal

Stoked Kimi got up and made it easy. Made flying my Lotus colours today a lot easier. Shame that Webber, Dan and Romain all struggled. :(

60% was the figure I heard.

But one of the teams also said that the Aus GP wasn't a good representative of the tracks they have to deal with for the rest of the year.

Closest I got to fame was walking in to the Park one day with Monisha Kaltenborn, team principal for Sauber. (Yes I had to google that name!) Oh, and I thought I saw Takuma Sato in a Ferrari on Thursday. Who did everyone bump into over the weekend?

I can see me! Kinda.....

Saw Kimi in a SV6 Commodore coming into the track, made my weekend to know he was in a commodore lol. Think he was driving to

anyone know how the laptimes of the porches compared with the v8's? the v8's were around the 1:56 kinda mark not sure about the porches though

Could just look it up on Natsoft

For the sunday races fastest lap times

TEKNO Team VIP Shane Van Gisbergen Holden Commodore VF 5000 12 24:49.7835 9 1:57.3781*

Wilson Security Karl Reindler (WA) Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 3800 P 8 16:17.1421 6 1:59.4744*

I had brabham seats all weekend and I gotta say the lotus was looking in great shape the entire time.

it seemed to me like Pasta cooked the brakes and over shot T1 nearly every lap.... retard.

it would also seem that hamilton may have made the right move in going to merc as well.

My photos from the weekend, sorry they arent all F1 photos, havent got through some yet and spent more time watching them then taking photos (Also didn't really have the right lense/weather conditions to get good shots of them, will know for next time :) )

Amazing week, finally home and I think I'll download the TV coverage to watch the race again. Of all the races for Kimi to win, I was at one :)

    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
    • Neg, the top one is actually for the front. The sizes are 18x10.5 +18 and 18x11 +32.   I measured many times but I'm sure I'll have problems as this is the thread for problems.
    • Just one thing; tapping tapered threads is tricky. Taps are always tapered and you would generally run it as far as you can, but with a tapered thread you have to stop much sooner otherwise the wide part of the taper will run in too far and you will have to thread the sensor in too far too as well (possible that it will never make a good seal) BTW nice wide wheels, I guess the top one is for the back!
    • Welp, good to know. Will have to wait awhile until steady hands with drills and taps are available. In other news, these just arrived! I will weigh them for posterity. Edit: 11kg each (or 10.9/11.1 depending on what my scale decides over multiple tests, the 18x11 don't seem to weigh noticeably any more than 10.5)
