If Merc keep improving they will be in the WDC battle.

Montreal doesn't really have any long corners to load up the rear tyres and overheat them. A few short sharp fast chicanes, some slow hairpins and high speed straights. The Mercs could be mixing it up the pointy end again this weekend...

Ferrari have revealed that Felipe Massa will use a brand new chassis at this weekend's Canadian GP following his shunts in Monaco.

This weekend's Canadian Grand Prix will once again have two DRS zones after the FIA decided to "double-up".

The 2011 race at the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit also had two zones - one on the Start-Finish straight and the other before Turns 13 and 14 - but the sport's governing body decided to use only one last year as they felt overtaking was a bit too easy.

However, it will be back to two this season, but there will be only one activation point - the first zone is 55m before Turn 12 (Casino Straight) and the second is 70m after Turn 14 (Start-Finish Straight).

Both zones are shorter than the ones used during the 2011 season.

I thought Canada had a abrasive service too?

Saw the interview with someone from lotus who said the surface is less harsh on tyres then previous races. Brakes are a bigger issue but technology has comefar enough in that area that its manageable

Mercedes referred to International Tribunal over tyre test row

An FIA statement said: "In the light of all the replies received and in view of the information gathered during this inquiry, the president of the FIA, acting as the FIA prosecuting body, has decided:

"To close the case as regard to Scuderia Ferrari Team considering that its participation in a tyre test organised by Pirelli in Barcelona on 23-24 April 2013 using for this purpose a 2011 car is not deemed to contravene the applicable FIA rules.

"To bring the case concerning the tyre testing session carried out by Pirelli and Team Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 in Barcelona on 15-17 May 2013 before the FIA International Tribunal because it results from the inquiry that the conditions of this testing may constitute a breach of the applicable FIA rules.

"The FIA International Tribunal is called upon to make a decision in compliance with the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules."

    • I downloaded the apps (for windows) and Consult 1 doesn't have this function on it for the Consult 1 plug which I'm pretty sure all Skylines have. You would think someone would have a workaround after 30 years for all Skylines which have ABS.
    • Also, I don't know the actual ABS system on the skylines, but a sneaky thing could be a piece of electronic equipment that makes the ABS think you're moving, and then same piece can send a signal for a locked up tyre... Activate ABS without slamming brakes...
    • The team at OBD2 Australia are pretty good, shoot them an email and ask them. I've dealt with them before for work stuff. I'd be shocked if it didn't work, so long as Consult can activate the ABS. But you might need to use KLine for it which would be the stopper, as I don't think that piece does KLine comms.
    • Yeah and hence my ghetto way of slamming the brakes, get the ABS to cycle, rebleed seems to be a sensible workaround.
    • Hey! Happy to help. Nothing inherently wrong with the adapter, it's more so with Brett Collins himself. He gave me a lot of incorrect information when I was in contact with him and was extremely rude when I challenged him. He stated I could not use any aftermarket twin plate clutches except for his own, not to use the dush shield, bla bla bla and it was all BS.  Collins stated to cut roughly 14mm's off the housing, I took off 15mm to make room for the dust shield. I would confirm with whatever adapter manufacturer you're using.
