And I have gtst brakes on mine that I got for free off a mate.

I've driven a non turbo RB30 and that was bad enough, the thought of driving an N/A RB25 or RB20 is quite painful.

EDIT: BTW there was a track comparison done between the 2011 Shelby GT500, Z06 Corvette (LS7 N/A) and the 2012 GT-R, the GT-R was a bees dick faster than the Z06 lol.

Also in regards to your track comparison, the zo6 and zr1 is a well made car, no ones saying otherwise. ZR1 demolished r35, its probably the best car out there and its a stick shift. GT500 on the other hand is a joke no offence. I wouldnt speak highly of it.

How is Nick's car not a Commodore anymore? Sure looks like a VE to me! Maybe YOU need to get out of your head this silly idea that there is something bad about Commodores (well at least the late model V8 ones!)

I also know of at least one VE taken to Japan for drifting.

your examples of Commo's that 1) haven't been maintained properly and 2) been thrashed are irrelevant; what about the fact that RB engines are known for crappy oil control and flogging out bearings etc etc.

Jap cars peaked in the late 90s, it's a well known fact. Your N/A is slow and not desirable; 4 stud hubs are a very limiting choice for wheel selection these days - hence every HR31 owner changing them for 5 stud for example.

In the test I mentioned, test driver actually stated that though slower and not as predictable that he would choose the GT500 over the other two for a daily driven street car. Also interesting was the fact that the Z06 is also up there with the GT-R; the most common comparison is the supercharged ZR1

N/A drifting isn't big and popular, super close, with the most angle (You can't get and hold angle without more power then an NA RB25 can produce), and most smoke IS popular, if it wasn't, then why is that what drifters are scored on?

Secondly, you're showing you've never driven a car that can break in a power slide at 140+KM/H other wise you wouldn't be claiming any muppet can do it, high speed + angle = alot harder to control then sliding in second.

Secondly, I grabbed the only skyline N/A drifting I could find on youtube quickly.

And if my car doesn't go on a dyno it's going to cost me money how now? I'm unsure how not using a device that I have to pay to use (If I wanted to) will cost me money by not using it...

To this guy, find me an NA RB25 that is producing 300HP... You do know that is around 225KW, IE, the region of 1Bar of boost + tuning on an RB25... IE, turbo power territory... IE, something a nicely powered car will produce... You're just helping us prove our point.

With modern tech, similar specs and e85 it's probably possible to meet or exceed that power level.

Please give the OP actually facts and not your opinions. And a commodoore should never drift. It is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. And yes, if it is cool in Japan it is cool here or will be soon. Japanese made the car and know how to do it right, Aussie bogans and Americans on the other hand have this mentality that power is the most important thing with building a track car.

I know yous will continue arguing with me all day. But in the end all iv heard is everyone giving a car (that they have never tracked) a bad name and then suggesting cars such as commodoore and s2k's to a guy who can either not afford one or will just be givin shit and let down by the other.

And it is possible to own a street legal skyline and drift it. You don't have to have them 20mm of the ground with wheels sitting right outside the guards. People just do that out of choice.

to say that commodores in the drift scene "aren't much of a commodore" is stupid. is that because they've had so much work done to them? so all the pro drifters are just using stock model imports are they? no they are using equally modified vehicles.

and generally, if something is easier to do something with, it is better. sure i could use the missus pulsar to tow a car on a trailer, but using a 4wd to tow it would be easier, and better. if i want to go mountain biking, sure i could take my road bike, but i would probably break it and it would be harder to control on the loose dirt. my mountain bike would handle the terrain easier, and better.

but at the end of the day, you are claiming that a NA skyline will teach a new driver things a commodore or falcon won't. this is false. hell, i'll even use your own theory as to why a commodore or falcon would make a better car to learn in. they don't handle or drift as well. so since your theory is that it takes more skill to drift a NA skyline than a turbo one, it will take even more skill to do it in a commodore or falcon. so they should learn in that.

you really need to hop down off your high horse and stop attacking people who disagree with your point of view. all of what you said is only your opinion and not fact. there is no hard evidence to say that drifting is better than other motorsport. just because it is fast growing just makes it popular, not better. otherwise we could say that the commodore is much better then the skyline because holden sells way more of them. it would also make the ADM r32 gtr one of the worst cars in australian history since they struggled to sell even 100 of them. to say that drifting is the cheapest for of motorsport is also totally false. it is harder on your car than going to track days. you have the added cost of extra tyres, etc. you can go to track days and not have to change tyres like when drifting, and you can have just as much fun without looking at times, etc. you can just go out and drive your car as fast as you can and have a good time. i'm not saying track days are better, just that drifting isn't the "best".

i wanna see pics/vids of this maverick drift, i tried in dads patrol and it was the hardest thing to keep a slide in. even my fwd volvo with no handbrake could slide better/longer

lol after watching this thread for a while, i feel bad for fryters. All he originally said was "Na's arent that bad, although they arent fast, they are fun to drift". He wasnt in the wrong, he was making a claim that n/a's arent that bad from his personal experience You guys are the ones who went off topic by challenging him, causing this argument to take place and drift off topic. Then started ganging up on the kid. Even the moderator of this forum stated this topic was about how quick the N/As are but he himself started challenging fryters. Its no wonder his replys are starting to get aggressive, let the guy be jeeze. His a fellow car enthusiast like you, whose passion lies in drifting. So what if he has his opinions on commies, you guys are no different hating on the n/a's with your silly opinions.
