Well done to the winner, great job.

Have you ever competed big fella, I know you used to train at MusclePit.

WA states coming up soon

No never competed . I did some lifting/training when I was 30 , with some silly idea of getting ready to do some track and field.. Never did get round to it(track). I was only going to a regular gym that happened to have a decent lifting setup. Was training by myself at the time so learned what I could. I got pretty strong, didn't realise it at the time. I was about 80 something kilos , I can't actually remember the deadlift weights but, I was squating sets of 250kg (235 on the bar) for 5-6 rep sets. I have some pics from back then , with some heavy equipment based lifts.

Had not done any deads since then. This last deads session is only my second since then. Did some training with some friends a few years back but, no deads or squats in that program (shock horror). Got sick a few times in the in between years and lost losts of weight. Plenty of it from the legs.

To correct the confusion I worked with Henry at Xerox (we talked about the comps and training alot) but, haven't trained with him yet.Kept putting it off. Sent a few people his way and figured more recently I would make an appearence once I am ready. I believe I have lots to learn since I have never been coached on lifing properly in my view.

definately like to see if I would be any good at the comp side of things looks like fun.

see told you, set the bar high... nice lifting

seriously though WTF crappy bar/plates are you using!? basically doing deads from a deficit every rep due to the small diameter of the plates lol... you could've propped them up on something

Ha ha... yes gheto weights. It's not so bad if I have to travel a bit further in the ROM I suppose, it's all about giving my back a good workout.

I think I irritate the missus as I am pinching all the weights to stick on the bar and then forgeting to put them all back. I think she is keen for me to go to the gym ha ha..

Well I reckon you can now set the next challenge mate.

Start a new thread with the next forum challenge.

Your choice.

Look at the results from this thread and make it suitable for the masses... after all it is to get everyone in to the spirit of friendly competition and to push themselves.

Also, PTC Perth hold Novice comps that you could go and try your hand at to get the bite which you will no doubt get to start PL again.

It's still possible for someone to do 28+ today. Come on people , you can't let the almost 40 dude win.

Yeah the PTC is in Malaga which is much closer than Muscle Pit. I am thinking that might be a good place to go.

I really want to learn the techniques to lift right and address the strength imbalances I have. Its more important for me to get that right before training hardcore for strength or comps. I believe that the efficiency of lifting right is actually a great way to safeguard the body for the long term and thats what I am after.

    • From the factory on RB26s there's a fitting on the intake manifold collector/"plenum" that provides pre-throttle boost signal. That's how they did it back in the day, I figure it's fine to replicate it.
    • I would be surprised if that wasn't the issue. It's probably telling you, that even if you remove the plastic liner, you may have some other clearance issues that may occur too in some scenarios. IE, tyre to guard. It looks like someone has already rolled the lip, but you may still have issues in the future IE, turning and hitting a bump etc. The fact it changes how bad it makes the noise when you are going backward vs forward is highly indicative that it's the tyre rubbing. They do make a terrible sound, even if you're only pushing a project car that has a liner hanging down on a tyre!   Has the car been lowered? If it has been, what is the measurement from the centre of the wheel hub to the lip of the guard straight up?

    • Mark's a bit smarter than people give him credit... He'd convince the person that is to become dead, to drive him to the forest first. That way his car has no evidence in it, and he's free to dispose of their vehicle permanently how he sees fit too...
    • But if you had to go bury a body in the forest, would you not put that in the boot? Most of them are >=90kg these days.
