Thanks yeah they will fit but im more wondering if there legal to have diffrent width wheels being an 1/1.5" diffrence

the example was just something random lol but that was the idea diffrent widths, looking at a set of wheels and its seems everyone sells staggered set, i would rather run all the same around but can't seem to find any ones to my liking

The answer is yes it is legal to have staggered fitmenf, your wheels cannot stick out of the guards, and your tyres have to be the correct recommendation sizes for the rim and the load rating for the car.

Been looking for months now :( just really sick of the look of stock wheels lol

ohh i see that makes sense no nothing over the top really

Would those tyre calculators online be okay to work off?

nah just head over to the fitment thread in the other section. have a read, youll find some decent sizes.

look at this link for any info regarding legal mods in Victoria

http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rdonlyres/CC48FC10-4D57-4F04-82E1-3BD72EF88340/0/VSI8.pdf

it says:

"the width of any replacement rim must not be:

- more than 25mm more than the widest wheel specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or vehicle series; or

- less than the width of the narrowest rim specified by yada yada yada yada...

not sure if "model or vehicle series" limits those conditions to the ER34 (the GT, GTT, GTV) or that extends to the GTR if you wanted to legally stretch an extra few mm's.

yeah.... sizes mentioned are illegal...

but so is breathing loudly in vic

but cars come factory with wider rims on the back so of course it's not an issue there

just buy the rims you want and be done with it... you are putting them on a skyline, so you'll get defected eventually no matter what rims you run so you might as well have the car looking how you want

also those sizes will look like aids

need to look at 18x9+20 all round as a MINIMUM

I', running staggered atm 8's front 9s rear.

makes it easier to get tyres to fit properlya nd still get he preformance I want.

Planning on staying stagerd but moving up a couple inches on each shortly.

well if I can get my arse into gear and get sunkist to sort my shit out.

Gtst tyre placard on mine says stock rims are either 16 x 6.5 or 17x 8 and 17x 9 so legally you can run 9s and 10s respectably and you can use an 18 inch rim too...not sure about rules on offsets but you must not have tyre/rim that protrudes the outer edge of your car..anything between about +15 and +38 fits up ok with some guard rolling...

    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!! I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s. I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones. Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
    • Yes, well. Mine are less than half that. ARBs are not set to "dumb" either.
    • I would hope. But, we all know even the best companies have an issue sporadically.
