Hi guys I need a little help, I have spent hours searching here and other forums (albeit via I phone) my new engine is a built rb26 cams e 85 - 5s etc and I've let myself get into a race with a 520 kw r35 ( which I will probably loose lol ) so in thinking cause nos is so cheap it might make it less embarrassing. So I came across the horror stories but is anyone using it? How is it mounted? I have 2 old d jetro ports I'm not using is that an option direct into the manifold? I've seen ppl plumb it before the tb but not in rb26 it's a genuine nos wet kit and I'm thinking a 50 or 75 hp shot will be enough. I'm after advice on how to do it correctly not dont do it get bigger turbos etc ive already spent a small countries GDP so something under a grand is a great option to get past the bank manager aka wife

it will need to be in the cooler pipe just pre plenum as its a wet kit and need as much help with distribution as possible, 75hp will be super reliable if set right. make sure it has a min rpm setting (to stop blowing back) and only activates on full throttle and via push button.

tell harry you need 2 of the big ones.

do your injectors have enough left in them to run a dry setup?

and does your fuel system have enough in it to run it in the first place?

maybe squeeze up to a 100 shot?

2000cc injectors and walbro 460 e85 pump I will know more when it goes on the dyno I'm looking at a few different nos systems in regards to transmission it's Gtr five speed but as long as it holds together I know from experience I can best a 35 off the line

You have it around the wrong way And wrong...

You'r not going to get a well set up and reliable nitrous kit, installed and running under 1k.

The cheapest way to go would be to buy a nitrous express wet kit. Buy a bottle warmer that is controlled with an inline pressure switch. Buy an msd rpm window switch.

.... then take the whole lot to a workshop that knows what they're doing with imports and nitrous. that's not many workshops in Aus.

Have it activate at wot over 4k rpm... don't install any buttons for activation, it's confusing when your doing 200km/h.

For a single point of injection, limit the shot to 75hp... and 'aim' the stream towards the back runner from the start of the intake plenum.

You'll have to use bigger than recommended fuel jets with e85... and don't tune it using afr meters only. Nitrous will give false oxygen mix readings and you will lean the whole lot off too much.

... then once you have it installed, tuned and into your second bottle.

you still wont see streaming lights, the pop rivets won't drop your floor pan and flames won't shoot out of the tail pipe.

as in the above post, wrong way.

wet kit, will need install of extra fuel lines and fuel nozzle for the mix.

dry kit, uses the vehicles own fuel output to add the extra fuel required.

Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
