yeah i have been talking to him - unfortunatly i have brought 80 % of my internals which i got for very very cheap - all i need now is what i asked for in the above post..

is auto tech in fyshwick doing engine work ?

Get someone who has had experince with RB's. Take it to Duncan Foster in Sydney....or if you want the whole engine package done, send it up to Paul at red R racing in Newcastle.

DONT go local. Period !

I will STFU now.

But if you do go local I will remind you

CONSTANTLY

Bitter much? :P *ducks*

All the work on my car was done at Autotech, but the motor was done by Racepace in Melbourne. Autotech used to get another company to do their engine internal work, not sure if that's the case still though. Give them a call and if they do it in house, I'd give them a shot.

How about those guys in SA who build RBs? Lewis engines.

They seem to have it sorted out, (oil control and pumps)

They have a RB 2.25 that im thinking would be good for me.

Does anyone know if they are any good?

Build an RB20 up and suffer inferior performance, or don't build an RB25 and get greater performance.

A stock 25 will be better bang for buck than a forged 20. That's my point lol. Bolt-ons and labour aside, why spend more for less?

If i wanted more power i wouldnt have bought a Skyline.

Im not a power tripper. Im actually happy with what its got now, id just like it to be solid and smooth.

I just want a nice to drive car i can mess with in the shed.

A bit of a toy to play with.

Constantly chasing power and speed is a waste of time and money, considering one can just buy it out of the box.(GSXR1000!)

Troy you know what i mean, you ride.

If you dont have a goal or stopping point for the mods on the car, it gets way too expensive and pointless.

ANYWAY.... im getting off subject. Reece was asking about engine builders.

So no one good in Canberra?

Had anyone tried or heard if these Lewis engines are any good?

PS: Happy with Autotech Nik? I want a Nistune and they are the only ones in Canberra.

Yep - no problems with it thus far and I was driving it like I stole it (and then the clutch let go, doh...)

    • I've searched fairly extensively among Japanese websites but found nothing really like those skirts in your photo. The closest I got was Origin Labo side skirts however they look more 'complete' in that they have a finishing piece or tab at the rear of the skirt so it blends into the bodywork, unlike the one in your pic. For that reason I'd say the skirts in your pic could be adapted from another car and they didn't include that tab piece, or those skirts aren't copied from an existing skirt but an original design. Sorry I can't help out in regard to ID'ing/sourcing them
    • Wonder if JB Weld sponsored the event lol
    • There's a big difference between a car built with millions of dollars in R&D, and someone like yourself taking a normal sporty road car, and making it 5 times more powerful. At the same time, get a modern sports car, and you can turn them up towards the 1000hp mark a lot easier too. Also, give that Lambo another 20 odd runs, and chances are it too may break something.
    • There isn’t really a cheap upgrade here. If someone made a decent, bolt in 6 speed that holds some grunt, it would do very well. The 5 speeds suck. You can put a - OSG 5 speed gear set into it. Ratios are tall so it zaps the “zing” out of it. Had one, busted it. - PPG 5 speed gear set synchro or dog’s. Ratios are even taller. - An overpriced Getrag. Nice to drive, expensive to source now. - A sequential of some sort. Expensive, very expensive. How many times do you pop a 5 speed before you throw the toys out of the cot?
    • Yes, fair call. I don't have any special love for super/hyper cars but it was impressive to watch the Lambo line up against successive skylines without any problem at all.
