.... 13.7 for a relatively stock ls1 in a reasonably heavy car is pretty good going. Your 33 is about the same weight as a commo with no interior or fat chicks. Most people have no idea how fast a flat 13 sec 1/4 really is.

N20 time...

I do. And this car should be getting close to them IF Nick setups the rear suspension AND tyres.

I'm in a heavier car, running 13.004 down the quarter at 106MPH.

Nick ran originally 13.9@106MPH in a car that is way lighter than I am.

Probably a smaller torque converter would help get this thing off the line easily, OR really really sticky rubber. Chasing more power is not going to help if you are already struggling to put power down at the half way mark...

I have et slicks sitting there, I never dropped my tire pressures the other day and I'm on stiff coil overs :)

I want a 12 second street car... It's just a matter of time

What power you making?

No idea I've never had it on a dyno?

At a guess through my auto with the bigger converter I reckon it would struggle to go 195rwkw

This is true... but for 2nd run at the drags with a poor set up it's not too bad.

As for improvements... Better tires, 0 static rear camber, softer rear springs/shocks, re-angle the rear cradle, adjust ride height to straighten drive shafts, lighten the car more, VHT tire prep.... list goes on. How far do you compromise???

No need to lighten it, it just needs a sensible suspension setup put in it.

Softer rear shocks and springs, get rid of the epic camber, and run low 13s.

PS: My 13.004 was on my first EVER run at the drags... ;)

But Pineapples, different shocks/springs, realign suspension, DONE. Go run flat 13s on same power.

Not really an update but a bit of car activity:

Dropped the oil and changed the oil filter and air filter yesterday preparing the car the the little run it got a Queensland raceway with the supra club yesterday. Overall the day was good with some mighty fast supras there, an even a 1uz powered jza80 (which I actually chopped down the main straight ;) )

So yeah just a few shots from the day.

    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
