I know most people here use HKS GT25s but Im about to go down a different path and try the TRUST route :sly:

I was wondering if anyone here can tell me how different specs of TD06 would perform on a RB25DET, in particular the Compressor housing specs between the 17C, 20G, and 25G

The exhaust housing is pretty straight forward: bigger, more power, more lag

What about the the differences between TD06, TD06S, TD06SH and TD06SL2?

The TD06-17C are usually used on high powered SR20s but anyone every tried them on RB25s?

hey got a tdo6 20g with 8cm exhaust housing.. internal wastegate.. you can get 8cm, 10cm, i think 12cm not sure about 14.. but there is a guy with a 16cm i think.. its rob77 he mite post up details. im not sure about any power ratings.. dunt even know about mine.. so if some one could help out please.. im going to convert it to external wastegate i think.. just for the noise (as its a drift car and need all the wank value parts :)) this is going on a rb20 and hopefully isnt too laggy. there was a jms car running a internal wastegated tdo6 19c and he made 306rwkw on 1.6bar with special fuel and ran 235rwkw at a dyno day not sure on boost/fuel etc tho. did run a 11.3 i think on slicks also.. if that helps. oh and that was on rb25/microtech etc etc

How much power you after...a L2-20G is equivalent to a GT2835, a SH-25G maybe too powerful if you want to keep it a street car. I know an Evo with a TD06SH-25G will make 650ps @ 2bars.

Thus the question which is constantly asked, why go L2-20G when the factory Evo turbo can run high 11s and make just as much power (~400ps), same with why go T67 when a TD06 can make just as much. Depends on the car, setup and tuning.

Once my engine was rebuilt with forged pistons we ran up 366hp @ 1bar on a td06-20g 16cm^2 exhuast housing. I had the exhaust housing and dump pipe ceramic coated whilst the engine was in bits and I get full boost by 4300rpm. Do a search on "average power" as that thread has a copy of my dyno sheet. Its such a wild ride now, it goes from ~160hp to ~330hp in the space of 1000rpm. I'd like to try higher boost settings, but without bigger injectors, a decent exhaust manifold (its all bolted onto the stock one) and some cams I dont think its worth it. Only fault I find is the lag, a ball bearing turbo would probably come on boost about 500-800rpm quicker for the same size.

Is that a hunch or something that Steve SST etc has told you. My thinking is that it wouldnt be that dramatic, could be wrong, probably am, just interested to know. In the Garret catalogue, what does the 16cm housing equate to, something like a 1.12 or bigger isnt it?

Buster vs B-Man would be a more vaild comparison, both have ~325rwkw peak (Buster 328, B-Man 323). Buster's TD06-25G/10cm rear had more all over the curve, boost coming in 1,000rpm earlier + a higher peak. B-Man's 3040/1.22 A/R is capable of far more - his is only in initial stages of development whereas Buster's was at it's peak.

(I should just shaddup and let both of those guys post here, but I blabber too much)

have a td06-19c internal gate turbs, has been flowed with garret comp wheel (the std comp wheel was shagged) even so the std wheel is very ugly in its design, and tiny too. Havent actually ran this setup yet but getting close (rb20)

    • A 1.5 way is a 2 way. It is just a 2 way with a less aggressive ramp on overrun.
    • The ABS and/or TCS being missing/broken will not cause the engine to misbehave. It just casues CEL to come on and annoy you. The CEL is useless if it is always on, so you have to do the things you have to do to get rid of it, so it can be useful. Being a Stag ECU, then yes, it will not expect TCS to be present. But it will expect ABS to be present and working. You will need to either make the ABS CU talk to the ECU (don't ask me what that will take on an NA R34), and make sure the hardware is working....or, you just need to blank it out in Nistune. Do not persist with the stock ECU. You will just have problems. Gte it Nistuned. Start from there. DO YOU HAVE A BOOST SENSOR? The ECU's boost sensor that it. It is connected to the loom at the rear of the coil cover. Usually rides on the firewall on an R34, but is usually bolted down to a bracket along with all the other crap at the back of the coil cover when a Neo is dropped into another car. If you do not have it, the ECU will shit the bed. So, do you have one?
    • So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...
    • the Tomei LSD fluid with lsd kit. frustrated that it was shaking the car to crap and affecting everything else negatively, I pulled the diff last night, and removed the lsd carrier, could not find anything wrong, however it seem to be 100 locked up acceleration, and deacceleration, wondering if they sent me a 2 way not a 1.5??  either way I installed the stock open carrier back in place. test drove everything smooth as butter again. no shake, shutter, random, what felt like clutch slip and grab or drive shaft play, etc. something differently wrong in side the lsd. I might bother taking it apart (if possible) to figure out what's going on inside this carrier, as bought too long ago to return.  only draw back is its back to a one wheel wonder.
