Risking- couldn't agree with you more. I'm building a JZA80 Abflug and it's an aero.

We bought a Cusco bolt in cage and F*** me was it shit.

I looked at the sandwich plate design to the floor pan and laughed.

Ended up chopping it all up, completely redesigning it, added bolt in side intrusion bars and made the hole thing completely bolt it.

Now it'll actually do its job both safety and rigidity.

I'm surprised these cages are designed so close to the occupants. I spose it's the easiest way.

Just a quick update.

Brad has messaged me this morning to confirm he's received my messages and has ensured my order will be filled.

He also noted I am the only person who's emailed him, as that's his referred method at the moment so keep that in mind.

There has been alot of things going on with the workshop recently and there has been some delays guys that I'm apologetic about.

There has also been some massive changes made to retify what's been going on which is personal and won't be shared freely.

I've been contacted by dan and a couple of others now via email and I appreciate the contact through that channel which is greatly preferred at this time.

I must stress through the only email to contact me via is [email protected]

The work quality I refuse to let slip away which is why the delays have occurred. With the time I've been putting into some other things some jobs have taken a bit of time to complete to the high standard I hold myself to and all I can do is apologise for that.

Is rather be know at this time to be slow and have good work that be fast and produce rubbish quality which I feel would tarnish my reputation more than a time frame issue.

Personal issues is an understatement at the moment.

The two cages you guys ordered are complete (photos have been seen) getting them sent off at a reasonable cost (considering I did free freight) and trying to get it into my spare time atm has been difficult.

Next week is a new week and will see them in your hands.

We're now into the second week after you mentioned the above.

Can we get a con number please, I'm happy with a refund also if you'd prefer. If so, let me know and I'll PM you my bank details.

Sent to your email also.

My cages have been sent, whether that's because I was fairly persistent in my nagging or because Brad has sorted things out and is clearing up a back log of work is not known to me, I'll be glad to get my hands on it though, put it in the car, and get my ass track side.

Here's some pics.

You can see what's needed to install the main hoop.

A plate is welded to the floor pan that has captive nuts on the back (you must drill holes for them to recess into). You then bolt the cage to the welded floor plates. The back stays are just bolted in like a normal bolt in cage.

The cage itself seems quite decent and a few people commented on it being a fully welded design, getting it in the car was not that hard - with a ratchet strap to compress the main hoop a little for clearance.

All in all it seems decent, though I wonder if I should have just put a full cage in it and been done with it... ?

The experience of obtaining it has mentally scarred me :)

The AGI was a slip joint, bolt together for more money than this cost as I chatted with them also.

That said, many have said the experience is good with them.

Oh as for washers, didn't come with any and while you might get some on the front two holes, you'd be hard pressed to get anything useful on the back.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
