Big Congrats to Steve and the BC Automotive team, about time we got the GTR back on the podium. Very impressed with the result, I have finally decided to read your thread and I'm a few pages in and I'm liking what I see . I wish I could have made it to WTAC this year to have a look, and tow my GTR down for the Flying 500 but been so soon after Jambo didn't have time to get my shit sorted. What did your car end up weighing in at? mine is 1280KG no driver running very similar set-up to your car except I got half the interior still in it but I got 1200+hp ups its arse :) . Anyways congrats again keep up the good work looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

cheers benny, would have been great to see your car compete at the flying 500. congrats on the 8.39 super quick time also. Cars weighing 1278 without driver or fuel, we will be back next year running a 2 car gtr team.....in 2 different classes, can wait.

You stepping up in class? Or will it be club and open?

Nice... 2 cars = twice the headaches :woot: , I am also have another R32 GTR chassis on the way to turn into a hopefully a very low 7sec GTR 3/4 chassis drag car retiring the current one. I have also discussed with my team in using the current 8 sec R32 chassis to compete in either next years or 2015 WTAC. I am hoping of débuting my R32 with my mates R35 GTR (ex Mercury Motorsport Time Attack R35) at the same time flying the same banner. It won't take much to convert the drag car to time attack. The transmission and driveline are compatible, most of the suspension is done just need new coil overs, Got a brand new RB26 head and RB30 Block and Crank for its new 800HP Quick Response Setup. Just need some big brakes and a lil bit of Aero setup and Rollcage needs a few extra bars. Can't wait to start this project and set some new challenges and goals.

Sounds like a fun and busy year ahead for you, it's always great to set goals and even better when you achieve them. The more gtr's running the better, looks like the skylines will finally out number the evo's at world time attack as I see a trend happening.

Cars heading to phillip island next month to see if Deano can brake our 1.33.5. Hopefully with better conditions this time and a new set of tyres perhaps, it might just get into the 1.31's I'm hoping. Still needs a new set of suspension but will do for now.

What day are you going down for? PIARC? What about SAU nationals in SA? your time to take the wheel, even on low boost you'll smash everyone there haha

9th and 10th at the island and deans driving and maybe I'll take the wheel, and I'll be honest I'm still a crap driver and won't smash anyone til I learn the car. It's been over 2 years since I've driven the car properly and never at this power level so happy to take my time. Need to put the spare seat in and get some driver training I reckon.

So wtac is done for this year but still getting the car out there to develop it further as we're not in a rush anymore which is nice. Boys took the car to Philip island for the national supersprint championship. First day had clutch issues with the clutch clip popping out, so they drove back to the workshop to sort it and head back again the same night. Day 2 great results and a personal best for the team... 1st in class with a 1.33.3, I believe 4th outright just behind the radicals, on advan A050 used tyres, and officially the fastest gtr at phillip island on record that we know of. Top speed on the straight was 302.2km/h. The tyres are the limiting factor here as they were falling apart after a lap. Set of slicks and we reckon it might break the 1.30 lap time. I guess the only way to find out is try it. Still haven't updated the suspension, would be great if we can get some sponsors, Hint hint if your a suspension workshop by the name of bilstein, mca, koni, supashock feel free to email me as I'm happy to test your gear on my car :)

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
