White GTS-T
Upon taking the car for a quick blat up the road it was apparent something still wasn't right. Not one to do things in halves, I ordered the following. Two GT-R circuit link sets. Only the third upper link would fit a GTS-T. The LCA's have since been sold. With the inclusion of the upper link, I needed to to get some length back, so I decided to replace my shorter upper arms. Old and new. Anti-seize all the things! Right side in. When replacing the upper links/arms It's easier if you disconnect the sway bar... And if you have the right tools. (The long 0 offset ratchet spanner was a godsend) The left side received the same treatment... With the addition of a new wishbone. Torque settings from Nismo for those wanting to D.I.Y. White GTS-T
Sometimes It's the little things that make a difference. New radiator rubber mounts. Seeing as how the fenders will have to come off, I got these fender braces to strengthen the front end up. And lastly, this Cusco add-on that triangulates the rear strut brace, which I'm in the process of fitting. Kisuu_Buta
I've just spent the last hour or so reading through the whole thread from page one! I take my hat of to you mate, you have build yourself a really nice looking and handling 32. I've been building something similar myself, minus the hardcore jdm parts... so I really appreciate the time and money that you have invested! Mr Streeter must love getting emails from you!!! Please keep the updates coming. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/428172-white-gts-ts-white-gts-t/page/7/#findComment-7337840 Share on other sites
White GTS-T
Thank you. Your build, although only short thus far, is quite impressive as well. There's some quality content there, that is right up my ally. I too plan on doing an engine build at some stage, so I'll be keeping an eye on your thread. Haha! I cringe at the thought of adding up what I've spent with Streeter over the years. Where did you get those radiator mounts from? mine are stuffed, im guessing you paid through the nose from nissan for them? Bushy
Wow awesome progress! Was wondering what was happening with this build, quality work as always. Drew32gtst
Loving this thread mate. My dad and myself (we each have 32's) are both watching with great interest. Would be very interested to see how this beast handles some grip track days. Cheers, Drew 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/428172-white-gts-ts-white-gts-t/page/7/#findComment-7340069 Share on other sites
White GTS-T
Thanks man. I like the picture you posted of your 32 at the NSW time attack. You should start a build thread, I'd love to follow it. A grip day is definitely something I want to try. I mean, most of the parts are there, but I'm sure it would be me who would let the times down though. Drew32gtst
Cheers, it was an awesome event and just heaps of fun to be a part of even if I did come like 4th last overall haha. A build thread is something I keep toying with the idea of but I'm not very good at documenting things with nice pictures. Plus it would be a very slow and boring thread I think as my 32 is really quite basic compared to yours. I think all you'd need for a grip day would be better tyres and an alignment tweak. At the moment I'm only using Federal RSR's and I'm a firm believer that if you're just getting into it and trying to have as much fun as possible you don't need more than the RSR's can handle. As for you letting the times down that's half the fun. Every lap you do you learn something new and start doing things better. My first track day at Wakefield my best time was a 1:22. Now 12 months and 7 track days later I set a new PB at NSW Time Attack of a 1:11. It's all about learning as much as you can while having a much fun as possible I say 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/428172-white-gts-ts-white-gts-t/page/7/#findComment-7340092 Share on other sites

White GTS-T
Regarding the build thread, there are enough likeminded people here, that I'm sure they would enjoy it. Hell, I just upload phone pics, and everyone don't seem to mind. But that does sounds like a lot of fun. You are right, I was looking at it the wrong way. It would be more about you and your car, rather than worrying about what other people are doing. If I was to go, some RSR's would be on the cards. I'd just need to do something about the guards as the narrow tyres that are on there now are already pushing the limits, especially sine installing longer UCA's. Drew32gtst
At the moment I'm running 255/35/18's all round on 18x9.5 +15's using stock 32 gtst fenders. My rear fenders are flared much the same as yours and the rear tyres poke probably about 2mm. My front fenders are quite mangled now due to having to push them out so far to clear the wheel/tyre combo lol so a pair of GTR front fenders are on the cards in the next few months just to make it look neater. Alignment wise I'm running approx. -2.5degrees all round and ride height is approx. 80mm at the lowest point of the exhaust. With all of that the tyres didn't scrape the even the tiniest bit at the track and I run it all exactly the same for the street as its my daily at the moment. No scraping on the street even at full lock. Anything can be done and 32 gtst guards are capable of a lot more than most people think. Kasko: Need to get you out on track with that shiny new r34 of yours 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/428172-white-gts-ts-white-gts-t/page/7/#findComment-7340121 Share on other sites
White GTS-T
A minor update. I received delivery of my PIAA globes that I had ordered, so I went about fitting them. Replacing the number plate globes. Reverse light globes. And the N1 headlight globes. Which now have that subtle blue tinge that you can only see from certain angles. It's a difficult to pick up on camera, but it looks good in the flesh. I also had time to finish off installing the Cusco strut brace add on. Lastly, I began to mount the new harnesses, but I'm going to have to make up some brackets to mount the eyelets for the crotch strap, so more on that later. For now though, I'll just leave this cool little hologram here. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/428172-white-gts-ts-white-gts-t/page/7/#findComment-7351542 Share on other sites
White GTS-T
A bit of an update. There hasn't been much progress lately, as the apprentice at work gave notice and left. I've been working extra hours to take up the slack by starting earlier and finishing later. Come the weekend I struggle to get motivated to spend my time back in the workshop. But I digress, The harness' are in and mounted. Considering the front suspension setup is now where I want it, I decided to focus my attention on the rear. I wanted to start from scratch, so I purchased a non-HICAS subframe. After trying to press the bushes out, I decided to loosen up the bushes with some heat. And went about reinforcing the pick-up points. It has since been stripped and is ready for paint. Once the subframe has been painted, I'll be fitting these. Obviously, to run the non-HICAS subframe, meant running non-HICAS uprights. Of which, I pressed the bushes out. In preparation for these. Since I'm going to be swapping out the uprights, I figure It's a good time to replace the wheel bearings. The main reason for the rear suspension overhaul is to tune out the bump steer. Having the same brand of arms all around, with the same thread pitch will make this easier. And lastly, to ensure the front and rear subframes are mounted square. Hopefully upcoming updates won't be so few and far between. Thanks for reading. 3 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/428172-white-gts-ts-white-gts-t/page/7/#findComment-7397629 Share on other sites
