Regs sound like number is nominated unless your form states a car number. says you can purchase a number sticker there...

yeah dont worry about the throttle thing.

any forward facing glass (other than windshield) to be covered by tape. A roll of clear packing tape is easiest, or electrical tape for various colours. Or you can ebay headlight film. All will leave a glue residue which comes off with some metho.

Will be spectating, fingers crossed its a dry day.

Cheers scmate!

Yeah fingers crossed its a dry day. Otherwise ill be in the 1:50's all day :P

I'll bring a spare.

Weather looks baller. Should be a good day.

Cheers scmate!

First time out at Sandown so go easy on me guys. I hope the stock brakes hold up for the day.

What group did you elect to go under?

I'm also finding my feet again for track days

What other mods to your car out of curiousity

Also whos got a garage for a day that I can just chill out at? I don't want the space for the car just somewhere to sit in between sessions :P

I'm pretty sure i elected group 2 but I guess I'll have to wait for the email from Neil to see where i ended up.

I'm making 325rwkw. Brakes are standard, suspension is some old Tiens with adjustable swaybars.

Tyre's and driver skill are my killer as I'm running 245 KU36's. I need more practice and wider stickier tyres.

Looks like we'll be in the same bout then. I'll just follow you haha.

What's done to your car?

Similar to yours

284rwkw. Ku31's at the front and Nitto Invo streets on the rear near its wear indicators on old Tein HA suspenssion

Limitation for me is driver, tyres, no oil cooler (I get up to 90c in this weather crusing on the freeway) and turbo issues. I won't be reving over 6,000rpm

So ill get about 2-3 laps in before my oil temps hit >120degrees i reckon, then Ill do a few cool down laps

More of a test day for me, as car only has gotten back on the road after a 6 month absence. But I'd be estatic if I could get under 1:30

Will hopefully get AD08R's and an Oil cooler fitted before the next track day

Jesus! 90 degrees is pretty warm just for cruising. I'm lucky to see 85 degrees on track but I do have an oil cooler.

I'm just out there to have some fun and to see what Sandown is like. I'll be happy with a 1:40 if I can get around the corners quickly enough.

My plan is to leave the car how it is for now and just learn how to drive it. Then I'll slowly slap some better gear on it.

Why so hot Tony?

You've got a new water pump, rad and still have the stock oil cooler (oil / water heat exchanger next to the oil filter) right?

What are your water temps like?

Trent said Turbo is too small, so working harder than normal, so hot oil going from the turbo to the block

In saying that Neo's run hotter than stock out of the factory

Charles get aroun 85c on the street.

When I tracked with my stock turbo oil temps hit 125c after ~5 laps at Sandown

Water temp is fine. Big rad I get like ~40-60c on the street lol

what was the weather like? hopefully cool wind and low ambient temperature should keep it under 120. maybe limit it to 2 consecutive hot laps?

I think it was a nice cool sunny day ~24c.

That was with a stock turbo

Now with aftermarket turbo and manifold things will get hot quick

Yeah probably only manage ~2 hot laps and then do ~2 cool down laps then another 2 hot laps.

I dont think my oil temp goes down that much on 1 cool down lap

    • They are in fact just nozzles. They are there only to produce a spray pattern and limit flow. The injector itself is what I use to control flow to the 7x nozzles. My old system had no injector and only PWM the pump. This lead to a lot of inconsistencies, and poor atomization at low pressure when the pump was ramping up.
    • With the system, once you drive it for a bit, and before you turn the car off, does the car fix its date and time? When you say the date is wrong, what date does the vehicle think it is, and does it always show the same date? My thoughts from a process driven view is; The system may be defaulting to a standard start date/time. The main reason you'd typically see this occuring, is the system is losing its constant/backup power supply.   If its always defaulting to the same date/time at start up, and especially if it fixes itself while driving, I'd say either the non volatile memory has an issue, or the power supply to the volatile memory that stores this information.   The other thing I'd check is if there is anywhere in the system you can adjust the date and time from. If the date/time is still moving forward since it wished you happy new year, then it is 100% possible the system has just had a bit of data corruption occur, and you likely need to find a way to reset the date/time in the vehicle.
