NYTSKY
The stock box will take the power as long as you have some mechanical sympathy. If you have the cash to burn the PPG Helical dog set would be my pick. The Bogan
The stock box will take the power as long as you have some mechanical sympathy. I got the stock box rebuilt and modified but at the drags with sticky tyres and sticky track it started to chew the case hardening of the gears after about a dozen runs, the oil I used was good quality, and I even swapped out the oil and added some modifiers to try and slow the wear but to no avail. When you are pushing a heap of torque the stock box might be fine for street duties or the occasional squirt , but when it gets leaned on it is found wanting. Disclaimer: This is from my experience of 2 gearboxes and talking to people at the drags, most overcame the issue by installing a slush box. sime1
Hey mark I got the car back from uni group I took it to the runs but was only allowed to drive it on low boost cause the ethanol was not above 60 so there for didn't call u out I take the car back there on Friday for another dyno session car made 437 kW then turbo max out I got an 11.8 on low boost 21psi after they dyno it on fri then she will be ready for hi boost 28psi I need new mickeys for rear I could not get traction what's so ever I should be going next week if not def following week will let you know when she ready 4 hi boost and come down... Quick question I noticed under hi torque and lots off pressure the engine light flashes on sought of off through the gears only under high revs take off and stuff did you ever notice engine light come on and off at all when u owned.... GTSBoy
PowerFC? Engine light flashing is knock indication isn't it? In that case, happening at high load makes sense. Also, try distributing the full stops in your above post around the post a bit more evenly. Leaving them clumped up together doesn't work. I have a headache after reading it!! The Bogan
I think the engine check light was set up for over boost warning, its been a while and I cannot remember exactly. I remember the low oil pressure warning light would come on at idle which was fine as it was set fairly high, it is adjustable if you want set it higher or lower.
