Oil Breather Blowing Smoke?

My ball bag mate limiter bashed my 700plus hp Gtr in 1st 2nd 3rd now the breather is smoking hard out??? No smoke out the back. Temp and pressures all good. Idle fine and runs perfectly. Thoughts?

Broken rings/ ringlands? I used to have an RB25DET which blew the dipstick out because of broken rings but it still idled ok and went well (well quite well).

And yes get your "mate" to pay for it.

yep smoke out the breather is usually the rings

did he limiter bash when it was cold and not fully warmed up ?

It was warm. And yeah I think I might just rip the motor out and chuck new pistons and rings in. Got standard pistons. Power fc is registering knock quite badly.

Are cp forged pistons any good? I can get a kit with new rods to for $1200is usd

I think theres your first problem......ring lands are probably gone.

Real knock as in pinging, can you hear it? If it is registering knock with 700hp on stock pistons it wasn't your mate that broke the rings it was inevitable!!

Re the pistons, as long as they are the right size and the rings are installed properly, most pistons fail from pinging tune or installation error, almost never from just too much combustion pressure.
