Hey guys I'm new to the forums, so sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Just wondering how much L/100km people are getting with there skylines?

I currently have an r33 gts25, n/a, auto(which I plan on getting converted to a manual as soon as I get the funds)

Driving long distance my fuel seems fine? (Just did a 800km drive and used roughly $120-140)

But when I'm driving around town it just seems to chew through fuel. 18l gets around 100-120kms roughly, which to me doesn't seem right, only mods I have are 2.5" aftermarket exhaust and mushroom pod.

What do you guys average driving in town? Is my skyline using a lot or is it fairly average?

Thanks in advance.

It's last service was apparently done at 80,000kms. I bought the car with 81,***kms and it's currently at 86,***kms.(haven't driving it a whole lot)

So you think it just needs a service and tune?

To be honest I kinda rushed into buying the car, had a quick look over for rust/damage. Car is very clean inside and out no rust/dings/scratches. Test drove it, ran smoothly, no problems with gearbox either. Previous owner was a female, car was kept completely stock(besides exhaust and pod of course)

Car did come with all receipts. I could check them to see if there was a major done at 80,000km but I'm guessing they lied or maybe only had a minor done.

It's always wise to give the car a good service when you 1st purchase it second hand. No matter what the previous owner has said.

Unless you buy the car off your mum or something and you know the history.

Yeah I should have done that, I'll learn by my mistakes I guess lol, well what do you think I should do?

The major service needs to be done at 100,000kms, should I hold off till then or go get it done at 90,000kms instead?

Yes, certainly stay in touch with the Brissie guys I'd say Ben.

They're quite helpful and the SAU.QLD President Tony will always put you onto the right path.

APEX'i Cone is a dry filter and therefore not risky like cones that need to be oiled.

But then many guys also run K&N and oil the flutes carefully without problems.

Sponge mushroom pods are not renowned for good filtering action > even worse are the ones which need to be oiled like HKS.

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
