Hi Everyone,

I've decided that a GT3076r or ATR43SS2 will be what will make my setup complete....i'll be happy with anywhere between 250kw-300kw.

my question is this, i have no idea what would be the ideal sized external wastegate... i want to limit exhaust or manifold modififications so was looking for a 0.82 rear housing with the flange for the wastegate and utilizing a vband clamp of the rear.

any suggestions or advice on the size?

cheers

Gaz

Turbosmarts come with either 7 or 14psi springs standard, then you buy other springs to get your desired boost pressure.

Also it might sound simple but i have no idea how technically minded you are. Make sure you buy springs that equal slightly less than your desired pressure, as you cannot run less boost that the wastegate spring pressure.

yeah i did know this...i still like to be able to turn my boost down when i have to leave it anywhere.

I ran an internal gate on my gtx3076r holding 18 psi flat line but 22psi needed a external gate to control it. Now I have a tial 44mm of the housing

i'm running 18psi at the moment....i'm not sure i'd push more boost on my old block (300,000km)

I use a 45mm Turbosmart Hypergate off a Hypergear SS2, happily runs 0.5 bar all the way to 1.2 bar and holds to red line.

Will be dialling in 1.5 bar once I get my injectors sorted out, right now stock injectors are hitting 92%... great spray pattern haha

The Hypergear is an internal gate housing, probably best if you buy a suitable external gate housing and get Stao to machine that to suit his turbine wheel if you are heading down that path.

With the GT3076 you can buy Vband housings for them cheap off Kinugawa, ship it to me and I can weld the gate to it. (unless you can find a decent fabricator locally, but you will need to take the car there.)

The Turbosmart gates are great and will hold over 45psi these days since the HP caps were released, but i assume you are sticking to 98... I would be running e85 for engine protection if you are worried about longevity

    • Agreed, I've never seen a 260RS specific manual. As GTSBoy said it will mostly be stagea other than the engine loom https://www.hgeconsulting.com.au/stageaservicemanual.pdf
    • You'lll likely have to make do with R33 GTR for engine/tranny stuff, and Stagea for the body. I don't know that there's even been an actual diagram seen in the wild.
    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
