Hi All,

http://www.bordermail.com.au/story/2837966/car-stolen-from-under-nose/

I'm appealing for members of the community to keep an eye out for my vehicle which was stolen from our driveway in Thurgoona, NSW on Thursday night / Friday morning.

The car was my 1994 Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-t. Automatic transmission, silver in colour with NSW rego plates AOU-86T.

Car stands out from the outside a fair bit.

It had a 400R bodykit, Carbon Fibre Bonnet, dark tinted windows and brand name stickers down each door.

Drivers side front fender had a crack in it.
Inside, I had painted the dash surround with a flip paint, which changed colour from a dark green to purple colour depending on the angle the sun hits it, HKS turbo timer sits on top of the steering column.
Mechanically, I had added a HKS 2530Kai kit I had imported from Japan (so I would assume it would be a rare turbo kit to come up for sale in Oz), pretty sure the brand was Turbosmart blue anodised blow-off valve with variable volume feature. I had also polished up both engine covers.

The car holds sentimental value to me as it was my first car I had owned (now about 12yrs). I didn't drive it much, so it has really low km's for that year model (92673 kms) as I had only completed my NSW rego check a week or so prior to it being stolen.

Its a real blow to both my wife and I with our first child only about 3 months off being born. It has shaken us up as our house must have been watched for some time prior to the car being taken.. It's a bad feeling not now feeling safe in your own house.

The car was locked and the battery was disconnected at the time. The car had a four inch exhaust from the turbo you would hear it start up!

My assumption is the car was broken into on the driveway and pushed onto a car trailer (but who knows).

I've attached a representative pic of what the bonnet and bodykit on my car looked like.

If you've seen this car or any parts like what I have described being sold can you please PM me or call the Albury Police on (02) 6023 9299.

Thankyou,

Adrian.

Hi Terry,

Unfortunately no CCTV at our place or in the street, but I have spoke to our developer who has a multitude of CCTV camera's around their display homes at the start of the estate. Hopefully they were dumb enough to exit that way out of the estate (two exits) and our developer captured something. Will know more Tuesday from them.

Yeah, being on the border, I've posted to NSW and Vic forums. Also posted to whole cars for sale forum.

Thankyou.

what bastards. i am from wagga. own a silver 96 r33 gtst. will keep an eye out as there are not many around this way and is a stand out vehicle. i hope the police get them . Makes me worried about mine.

My gtr got broken into 3am Saturday morning, thanks to my alarm calling me and smsing me I woke up went down stairs and herd someone trying to open the door so I quietly went back upstairs and got my wife to call the cops

I then went and sat in a spot where I could keep an eye on the car, I thought to myself if I go rage and run down he might have a weapon or run off and return a later day

Somehow I kept my cool to sit and wait for police, I then herd "get on the floor don't move don't move!!" And people running so I jump down the stairs and see 6 cops slam this scum to the floor and handcuff him

He was taken to the local station where he is known for theft

My previous gtr was stolen back in 2012, with this gtr I went all out on the alarm/pager/gps and I did all I could to really catch this son of a bitch

Thankfully no body damage to get into the car but the obviously the ignition barrel and wires under the steering are all fudged

I first got the call from the alarm at 3:10, cops were there at 3:25 and he still couldn't start the car, suck shit

Can't stress how important a good alarm system is people, spending $1200 on a alarm is cheap compared to loosing a gtr

Wow. Thats a good result. Out of a bad situation of course.

I'm sure everyone would want to smash the guy, but the reality is you will be the one in trouble not him. Shit system...

Great result Michael!

* Even if he makes bail (in this nany state), I don't think he'll come back to your place - that's taboo to him.

* If he's on drugs, he probably won't repent and get a job because he won't know how to get and keep one.

* Your presence of mind and patience to let things happen is to be admired.

yes a good alarm is worth it. There has been a spate of scum burning parked cars on the street here in Wagga and the usual car theft of older cars. They are always found burnt out. Mainly happening in the poorer class suburbs. A good result for you Michael but if any low life gets into my joint or my skyline be prepared to meet my baseball bat or my monster dog.Its always self defence though but I would need a good barrister, or claim being mental. That works.

My GTS25T got broken into 2 weeks ago at my front door in my driveway about 1:30 Friday morning was kinda weird my dogs were going off my wife yelled out shuddup boys then I came down for work was putting my work boots on and noticed my interior light on in my car went outside and my passenger door was open.

thing is NO forced entry and nothing was broken or stolen.

So I dunno wtf they wanted or was doin or how they unlocked my passenger door.

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
    • I NEVER think about using a scissor jack unless there is absolutely no other alternative. f**king things are dangerous, annoying and stupid.
