Who says it cant be used on the street? Rta dont have to know ;). I would love to see this happen, so what it might not make a million kw, but it would still be cool in my books, and very unique.

Best of luck mate, hope you can make it happen.

God help us if hot rodders had the same negative attitude some people on here have. We wouldn't have any of the cars or products we have today. We'd still be bolting on an air filter & exhaust and thinking how hot we are.

Somebody, somewhere has to have a fresh idea and move forward to complete it. I would be very surprised if help couldn't be found from the Castlemaine Rod Shop or any experienced Hotrod shop. I remember when Peter at Advan Performance put a V8 into his GTR. They said it couldn't be done, crap. Ok, so he sold it before it was finished but he was pretty busy at the time. Making any engine fit is no problem with enough fabrication and if you have knowledge or friends or associates with knowledge then go forward, be the 1st, what a car it would be.

street, track, drag,

in the world of AWD cars its a little fuzzy

what i want, a car to race on the street,

currently i have finished subaru liberty GT

pumping out nearly 300KW at the wheels

its a very fast car and its so usable on the street,

and i can takedown some more powerful rear drive cars on the street (while they sit on the start line in a cloud of smoke)

i was thinking of making that more powerful until i found this skyline

now im inlove, i have to get it on the road, it deserves it

but i want it to be fast, 10sec passes if possible, (yes i know this is easy with a rb26)

but the larger the engine we use the less lag we will get,

RB26 is a GREAT engine, RB30s are great too but they can be hit or miss,

a VR38 will be reliable, it will be fast, it will be upgrade able

now ive been talking to the guy in Europe that has put the vr38 in his r32

he said it was a bitch, and i will lose the power steering and aircon,

he says it will be a drag car,

and we cant really argue, he has done it

it wont stop me from trying, but i will make me look into all this before we start

everything is possible, its just how much money we want to throw at it

If you really want to do something stupid put 2 4g63 or 4b11t engines and gearboxes in, one in the front, one in the back.

you sir are on another level

im brave but not that brave

but that would be a rocket,

i recently stripped and rebuilt a 4G engine, they are actually pretty cool

Honestly the only reason i ask is looking at the above R with the conversion there is a hell of a lot of modding to make it close to fit. One would think the legalities of getting it on the road would be horrible. They have cut half of the front end out.... Just depends if they did that for weight saving or because they had to.

Have you spoken to the appropriate people regarding the legalities of getting the thing registered?

Also you are talking about racing on the street, i would leave that part out on a public forum. We don't support that kind of stuff around here.

I understand you wan't little lagg and power. I understand you want to do something that no one has ever done. There are so many things to consider before locking into anything. The main two are obviously can it be done and is it legal when fitted.

Like i said i would love to see this be done, but keep looking into it man.

Yeah i wouldn't want to be risking that as to fit the engine i'd say you have to go past a point of no return...

You can't exactly weld back in everything and swap the motor over lol

Not to mention it will be pretty noticeable for the cops... Massive bonnet lol

so what im seeing here

laws of physics are against me, it wont fit

budget is against me, it will be expensive

government is against me, it prob wont be allowed on the road

and now its clear why no one has done it before,

lol

Could still do something different.

Twin turbo V8?

But really how much money/time do you really want to throw at it.

Edited by Anfanee

so would it make everyone happy if i throw some forged internals, cams, bigger turbo and got it tuned

is that what the worlds wants,

I think you will find the world will be OK no matter what you do.

the Ls1 fits.

But i wouldn't bother.

3.4L stroker kit. Small twins or single. Make good power, good response, and spend the extra cash of diffs. Job done.

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
