try calling KYP at Welshpool. They may have some, cant be sure.

I called them two days ago and they said they'd call me back and never did. They're only around the corner from me so I'm just gonna drive up today and see what they have. Japwreck in cannington don't have any r33's right now either.

who did you talk to...?

Afternoon all.

Manne, As far as i am aware the inner guards are required. There are wiring harnesses either side that sit above them so it's a good idea to have them there as protection

Thanks buddy. I rung KYP again half an hour ago, the same guy said "Must be the new guy!, we fired him!" and then took my number and told me he would call me back... Why do I get the feeling I am being taken for a run. Don't they want my money?

Yeah they are ok, havent purchased anything from them since they dropped my laurel half cut off the fork lift 10 years ago. Best to go and see them. If they anything like here, the phone rings every 5 mins and they can't chase anything up

Going there would be best. If they aren't too busy, look for Ben and tell him I sent you. And yea, he's family

They have been improving, and have come a long way. Still much to do IMO, but yea, still hit and miss

Lol,they did eh? I'm gonna bring it up when I go over on the weekend

Ok, so I got the wheel guard from them, I did name drop you Colin don't know if it helped or not. They said for ~$800 they could get my skyline inspection ready, but that includes fixing the tacho and removing the tint.

I wonder how much it'd be if I did that myself (which I can do) and just let them do engine stuff.

oh, and they gave me two guards for her, an R33 (for the top) and an R34 for the front, which they INSISTED does fit the R33, all up both pieces cost $80.

"Fit" is a loosely used word here hahaha, it might fit, shrugs....bring it back and ask for your money if it doesn't.

$800? What else do you need done anyway other than the tacho and tint?

A box for my old filter (they were gonna throw the stock on) and mesh the front grill (I have the mesh already)

and my electric mirrors need fixing. The left one is fine, the right one only folds in. And when I tell the right one to fold out...the left one folds out...

Ugh electrical stuff PITA!

Filter wise, I'd use the stock ones as well. Inspectors can be assholes when they see after market stuff. Or build an enclosure. Filters always need to be enclosed. So I guess stock would be easiest.

    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
    • Nah, that is hella wrong. If I do a simple linear between 150°C (0.407v) and 50°C (2.98v) I get the formula Temperature = -38.8651*voltage + 165.8181 It is perfectly correct at 50 and 150, but it is as much as 20° out in the region of 110°C, because the actual data is significantly non-linear there. It is no more than 4° out down at the lowest temperatures, but is is seriously shit almost everywhere. I cannot believe that the instruction is to do a 2 point linear fit. I would say the method I used previously would have to be better.
