Just went through similar shit, but a single. If you are using the stock oil feed lines on yhe twins, as far as I know, they have restrictors on the banjo fitting on the block, BUT you have to check ur oil pressure and make sure its not too much more than stock. I think on the tomei pump you can adjust the oil pressure if its too high.

Quite often I have had to use multiple 1mm restrictors on single setups, it's common to overfeed the bearings/journals with oil and force it out the seals, especially if the drain is compromised. Grab some 34 restrictors and try them, as the 32 doesn't run them i'm pretty sure, but understand journal turbo's need a lot more oil supply than BB cores, you might have to drill the restrictors out a bit if they are journal bearing cores.

If you can lower the pressure externally as XGTRX mentioned it might be a lot easier than mucking around with the feed to the turbos.

Set your oil pressure Via the Tomie pump according to your bearing clearances, oil weight and RPM limit for the engine internals to survive.

Then sort out your turbo oil feed restrictor.

Pointless lowering your oil pressure to suit your turbo feed if your running big bearing clearances and intend to rev to 9000......engine will just eat itself out internally if the engines oil pressure is not there at higher RPM's

The turbo oil feed rate is adjusted after you have sorted your engines working oil pressure.

I'm looking to restrict my factory oil lines to my bb turbos I heard the factory 1.2 millimetre is reduced to point eight millimetre with High volume oil pumps?

Does Earls or someone sell banjo bolts with smaller orifices.

Ive silver soldered the inside of the fitting then drilled it out to desired size . Bit less dodgy then gluing.

definitely that's the go f**k glue, was just hoping to change a Bolt and be done.

I'm surprised there's nobody selling these things as I'm sure I'm not the first person to put ball bearing turbos on an RB with a big oil pump.

Absolutely, Just want to know whether nissan chose to restrict oil flow at the block via banjo on the 34's while garrett obviously fit them on the cartridge to be sure there restricted for warranty purposes.

The difference being 1x .8mm banjo restrictor at the block vs 2x .8mm restrictors at turbo cartridges.

Just wondering under pressure if both examples/ Turbo's would see identical oil flow being dictated by the smaller .8mm oriface @ the block.

For a high volume pump setup

    • Thanks for the linkie. Certainly always a great deal of help when people post comparisons like these, but I think for now I'll stay away from any semi slicks. I did go ahead and order the sportcontact 7. My buddy has them on his modified A4 and he keeps saying how good they are. For my intended purposes these will probably work real well. I'll report on them once I had the chance to try them out
    • Talk about noisy. Even when I still had the Tomei under the car I could distinctly hear the tires rolling. And I doubt I ever will need maximum grip like on a track. My GTR will maybe never even see the 600hp mark and I need to get used to the car quite a bit before challenging the limits of its handling. For the next winter storage I think I will get a set of these rubber drive-on thingies that have a tire shaped base. Those supposedly really help prevent flat spots.
    • Well our climate is definitely way less hot overall and the weather can be quite picky at times. I just know that during normal road use or even spirited drives there is no way I'd be able to consistently stay in the operating temperature, and constantly changing the tire pressure would also be a royal pain.
    • Input shaft bearing. They all do it. There is always rollover noise in Nissan boxes - particularly the big box. Don't worry about it unless it gets really growly.
    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
