Hi guys, who in Sydney does the conversion from Jap to English for the screen display in dash? I read a huge thread and it seemed like Jetwreck does it, I've PM'd him but haven't got a reply (maybe he's busy IDK). Is there anyone else that people know of that do these regularly?

Thanks in advance.

Can any authority on this subject create a DIY thread with all info? Would be awesome if we could just direct people to a single thread with an easy-to-read list of contacts and Q&A's.

Pretty please?

PM either Andy (Andy65b) or Craig (Jetwreck).

I don't know if they are still doing them, but may be able to point you in the right direction.

Original thread was in the V35 section: http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/194126-software/page-2

I can pretty much decipher most of it between pictures and a translate app it's just annoying and I like stuff to work properly lol.

On a side note it's got the standard CD player under the standard gauges in the centre, it won't tune to above 90, will a new head deck fix this or is the aerial/antenna an issue too?

for FM, i think you just need a FM extender

also if you want a aftermarket CD player, you need to make sure you don't have BOSE system dash, otherwise, you need to trim it or change to like this:

You like it now.... give it a year and when you have a double din you wont ever use it.... noobies

a couple of days in my case drove from launie to hobart keeping eye on economy. Then realised it likes fuel so just look at fuel gauge now, however my son does like it

Haha probably. But at the moment I'd like to keep the stock gauges in the dash so no room for double din

Jetwreck no longer does conversions, and from what he told me; whoever does them now charges an arm & a leg.

It's really nothing but novelty value; you won't even look at it in 6 months.

Fwiw, band expanders are a pita; the numbers on the screen don't reflect the actual station, and it drove me mad in about a week. Pull out the Jap head unit and replace it with something that does the job properly with stations you can actually tune.

Ahhh yes thats the exact answer I was after! So the issue is with the head deck not the antenna/aerial. Cool

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
