As above, I was installing a new aftermarket headunit in my PM35 stagea and the ISO harnesses didn't work. Got rid of the harnesses and did it myself, perfect.

Did this morning with ISO harness, worked perfect....

I got the head deck and everything is fine, however, is there something that will convert the factory AUX plug to a normal 3.5mm head phone jack that is commonly used in head decks? The factory Nissan one is quite strange.

Are you referring to the radio antenna plug with 2 prongs? If so then you can buy an adaptor from JBHIFI for around $15

Nope got that. It's what sends sound from the DVD player or the factory screen through the stereo. The factory stereo has a strange plug type outlined in red in this pic post-98833-14516896258196_thumb.jpg

Are you talking about the unit in the upper glove compartment? That will not play dvd's, it's only made to read the navigation maps.

You can run an aux cable for the stock screen/stereo via the unit in the rear LH boot trim but I don't know why you'd want to if you are upgrading the stock head unit.

In the upper glove compartment some has installed what looks to be an after market DVD player, the video goes through the pop up screen and the sound goes through the aux input in the rear of the standard head deck. I've got an aftermarket head deck which has only the 3.5mm jack at the front for aux. So basically I want to be able yo convert the standard plug to the new plug. I've tested a DVD in there before I changed head decks and it worked fine

Cant get into photobucket to add pic. But there is an svideo plug to 3.5mm jack

That may be it, although it looks like mine has more pins.

Is it the socket for the optional MD or CD autochanger?

Not sure, it comes up on the display as Aux. all it does is send sound to the head deck for the DVD player in the upper console I've attached another couple photospost-98833-14527559279737_thumb.jpgpost-98833-14527559434257_thumb.jpg

    • Nah that is not actually a lot. Just painting my GTR frontend and the little bits to make sideskirts/nismo flare pieces work correctly/fit on the sedan/mount up correctly came to about $7000. Is it a lot? Sure. None of this is economical. Economy would be shelling the car and buying a 2010 Corolla to commute in. The perspective of all of this is different.

    • I don't see any issues here. I've been saying all along this is a big job, the price reflects that.  When the car comes back perfect I'm sure it will feel like money well spent.

    • So, I started this repair and got as far as "fixing" the holes with some fibreglass. God all those years working on boats came back quickly. I decided I'd reach out to some rust guys just to see what they would say about it. I came across a guy about 40 mins away and went to see him. He said the windscreen needs to come out, that there might be some more bits around the windscreen and he'd quote them at the time. But his quote was $300 to remove and replace windscreen and $3k for the damage he can see. He said he could respray the roof for $1200 and the bonnet for another $800 (somebody has previously rattle canned it, its horrendous). This is $5300 + any small additional bits. It's a lot, I get that and the name of one of my fave youtube channels 'Not Economically Viable' comes to mind.  I'm not being financially rational, but I've taken him up on the quote. He's opening a new shop in November with more room, so we're waiting for that. I'll leave the currently missing headliner out until then. I'm looking forward to it being fixed and having the paint looking nice again (lots of clear coat issues on the roof too). / flame suit on.
