Well I had fun :)

I made 194.6rwkw and I'm still scratching my head trying to work out how  but I'm really impressed with the result :) It was great to meet a few more SAUers too.

Here are a few pics. I didnt get that many coz I left early. If anyone wants the hi-res versions PM me.

^^This car is actually blue in sunlight :D

Haha, you shouldn't be so surprised Paul, I think you forget just how conservative the old BMT dyno was when you cranked you 160kw.

Wish i could have made it, Imagine what 210+ would have looked like on the selectmaz dyno

BMT's mustve been REALLY conservative!! Either that, or this one is optimistic.

The only mod I've done since the BMT run is a high flow cat. 41rwkw from a cat? I dont think so!

Where do you take your car now that BMT closed down? I'm still with Sam at complete auto running on the same type of dyno that BMT had. But this ones 4wd :)

All mods are done by me in my drive way now :D I really havent had a need to take it anywhere else. It will go to Sam next time tho coz he owes me $50 :)

You shouldve come down. 210 wouldve been close to 300 on this dyno :uh-huh:

for some unknown reason my car managed to only run about 5-6 psi on the dyno, on the road it was pulling at least 12-13 psi.

But 180 rwkw's on 5psi sounds ok to me :)

On the dyno there seemed to be a pressure loss occuring though after inspecting the bleed valve and cooler pipes I couldnt find anything obvious, and the car is still pulling as hard as normal on road. Dyno's must put a decent amount of load on the car!

Oh well, was a good day, thanks Steve.

Had a great time, was nice to meet all of you and good to give the car a run and get some feedback on my pump problems. Looks like the standard fuel pumps are just plain crappy hey Waz coz mines not getting enough fuel up either! Can cause some nasty knock! Still managed to get a figure of 225kw which was pretty interesting. Thanks to Steve and the guys from Selectmaz for putting on the day and the yummy BBQ! :P

Correction It was 204rwkw The Graph people were looking at was a totally different one, sorry to disappoint but I have a photo of the graph at it seem to be closer to was you got on the ICE dyno.

I got a power figure over 20Kw different from the ice dyno. On the ice dyno i had just under 230Kw and on this one i ran 249.1Kw. Big difference concidering my car had exactly the same setup for both the run at Ice and SelectMaz.

hey chris is this your car or your dad's? are you going to drive this on your P's when you turn 18?

Yeah my dad owns it and yes i will be driving it on my P's. Dont tell the cops :)

mate, with 250rwkw it ain't the cops that concerns me, its you... i hope you don't kill yourself!

i should have brought my dad's 86 corvette, may have made just a little bit more power than my auto r32 :)

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
