Started work on instilling aftermarket engine management on my stagea ran into a few hurdles one being relays and there location i understand the fuel pump has a progressive voltage feed ? and i know the relay in the kick panel next to the ecu is ecu switched but where is the coil and high current relay ? also the stock rpm gauge is it simple pulse or digital signal or voltage i have looked and looked but all i can find is circuits to convert was to aftermarket tach

if i can get this working on the stock ecu wiring end it could lead to an aftermarket plug and play for the s1 stagea :woot:

almast had it running today on the aftermarket then the relay issue arose so unsoldered everything and reconnected stock ecu fired straight up

I remember seeing a male to female header bridge for the r34 style ECU pinout, though thats as far as you could go with plug and play. (so you would manually splice the new ECU wires into the bridge, then it becomes plug and play)

I spliced my ECU into the stock loom manually. Its not as neat and simple as I would like but its the only practical solution if you want to keep it as simple as possible.

In terms of the fuel pump issue, running new wiring is going to be the simpler solution. You dont need to remove much of the front interior, just run alongside the door sills. Then you'll need to remove the bottom part of the back seat, and the boot floor panels.

For starters you'll want some upgraded wiring to ensure the least voltage drop at the pump, then you can choose whether to control the pump via the new ECU, or let the stock ECU control the pump via a relay supplying power directly from the battery.

apologies for very late reply ! but i have since gone for a higher spec ecu (ms3 pro ultimate) full engine build... box build as well :)

still on with this rpm issue is it simple pulse or progressive voltage or proprietary signal ?
