Precision 6870 gen 2

Hey guys I'm new to forum and hope I've put this in right section

Has anyone used a precision 6870 on a rb30 and had goood results?
I'm thinking of going down the precision path as all I read is great things about the gen 2 range as far as peak power at lower rpm is concerned compared to other comparably sized turbos.

Ive always had Garrett turbos and was going to buy the GTX4294 just because the spool time would be a bit better and it predominately a street car. I am chasing about 500-550kw at the treads.

Many help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not really hung up on any certain manufacturer as they all do great things for different setups. I'm more so trying to get a feel for precision and what suits the best turbo for my application.

From what I've read so far the 6870 is good for about 800hp at the tyres on a rb30 so I didn't think it would be a case of "over turbo". Considering 760hp is about 550kw.

6870 on 3L is your best option it's like a 6466 on a 2.6, you'll make the power of those smaller turbos and won't be working the turbo as hard (safer too)
it's 3L spool and torque is on your side

BTW i have a brand new 6870G2 if u like

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
