WTB - RB25DET Pipes

Hi Peeps,

Just chasing a few parts to get my vehicle back to a standard for roadworthy inspection, I have attached a couple of images of parts required. Maybe someone has these lying around after an upgrade.

Parts required - see attached images
1 x Water Tube Splitter Pipe - Location in image (Metal Tube Drivers Side Rear of the engine)
1 x Turbo Inlet Metal Tube Only
1 x Standard Turbo Exhaust Manifold - my current one has a big crack half way through right near the turbo flange area.

From my understanding with current items that would not pass inspection are the following as outlined in EPA document - Unroadworthy items list. http://www.epa.vic.gov.au/~/media/Publications/1031 4.pdf

1. Plenum Chamber
2. Aftermarket Throttle Body
3. BOV Atmospheric release
4. You can either have aftermarket intercooler or Pod filter - if you have both the Pod needs to be in Airbox
5. Dual Stage Boost Controller
6. Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
7. Aftermarket Turbo that interferes with the standard emissions and is not an approved ADR replacement

Any info would be greatly appreciated - Luckily I have 90% of the parts to change over - just a few which were cut and re-purposed for the mods.

I may have this, but I need a better description - have a shit-load of pipes and fittings removed during a 25-30 build & have no idea which one you want. I may also have the intake metal pipe, but I cut something a while ago and it may have been that. Will have a look tonight, but if you get me a  better description (or drawing / photo) of the first fitting it would help.

Thanks Mate, its hard to explain that water splitter tube, I dont really know the exact name of it - there is an image at the top of the location of the metal water tube, its located at the driver side rear of the engine, and it is a metal tube roughly 25mm in diameter and it has 2 small metal tubes on each side of it which are roughly 10mm in diameter, so its a large tube which has 2 other smaller tubes coming off it. Its the only metal water tube on the drivers side at the rear of the engine that is 25mm in diameter and has 2 other smaller tubes coming from it. The tube is fixed to the side of the engine with a small piece of rubber water hose and 2 hose clamps then obviously another water hose attaches to it with the 2 other smaller water hoses. Wow hope that doesnt confuse you too much. Damn Nissan hah

So you are returning to stock for reg purposes and then putting the aftermarket stuff back on? If so, I can lend you the bits I have, exh mani, metal intake tube, I also have a stock turbo and exhaust system if required.

Hi Champ,

Yeah I was offered a stock manifold in Geelong for a very low cost, however I am still yet to collect the item. Thats correct just getting all the stock things back on so I can get it roadworthy passed and registration done again. Then it will be all changed over again. Currently the vehicle is getting a new coat of paint and I am hoping to paint it within the next 3 weeks. 90% of the body is complete, just need to finish the rear bar and door jams then into the booth. After paint I will take it back down to Trent at Chequered tuning to finish the last tune. Then it will be all swapped back to stock. So I am hoping to have it all ready within 5 weeks for RWC Where are you located mate?

Mate thats excellent, I will certainly contact you when the time comes. Absolute legend as for exhaust and turbo pretty sure thats all good mate. I did cut into my dump pipe because it was custom already I simply cut the stock flange off and fabbed on the piece to take the new flange.

I will also look after you for helping me out and machine up a custom billet part, badge, what ever you like got some pretty nasty designs.

Thanks again

Is this the coolant pipe?

RB25 Coolant fitting.jpg

Hi Mate, yeah thats the pipe, coolant splitter. if anyone has had to change this pipe working on a complete vehicle they will know how frustrating it is to change or even tighten a hose clamp. Nasty pipe that one. Mine has corroded and split right where the smaller tube joins to the larger ones. I was thinking to just fab something from ally tube and then anodize it. But the thought of just getting something already available was much easier.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
