xerxeshm
Hey guys, Sorry if this is in the wrong section. RB25 - R33 s2 GTST Recently my crankshaft pulley has developed some cracks after removing it to do a Tbelt and Water pump. A new stock one from Kudos Motorsport is 400 bucks and no one else carries them. I could only find the ROSS ones which are rated to 1000hp, way more than I need. My question is, has anyone used the china "japtek' crank pulleys? they are supposedly under driven but are completely solid with no rubber. I'm concerned about losing the damping effect of the stock crank pulley. Would it throw it out of balance or increase engine wear? Any help is appreciated. hardsteppa
400 bucks to save having to buy a new engine soon after is a good deal. Don't use a solid pulley. Cheers guys Let's just say several big tuning shops prefer OEM balancers.. if they're using it on serious builds then that's enough to say they work well! Even Redsun Motorsports & Mechanical (the guys that put together my bottom end) asked me what balancer I bought, I said new OEM and they said "good, those xyz ones are rubbish" 1 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/472663-light-weight-under-drive-crank-pulley/#findComment-7858737 Share on other sites
WantGTR
^^ i agree with this. I wouldnt be putting on a cheapo solid balancer for bling. If money is tight get a second hand one from a wrecker.
