Thanks guys I have some of your PM's. I'm flat out at work today and will only be able to respond after five. Thanks for your patience.

If you havn't PM'd me yet please do.

As time is getting closer, just wondering if this all can be done before the next fun day 19th Dec @ Winton?

PS: not sure if I have mentioned in PM, but I DO NOT require remote oil filter setup.

Shouldn't be a problem mate. I'll get all the details off to Toby @ Meridian tomorrow. He can order what he doesn't have overnight and can start shipping early next week.

Is it too late to put in an order?? For R32 GTST.. are the prices the same as before?

Credit card payment alright? Did anyone get Meridien to install theirs? How much was it??

If its too late its all good, we're up for the next group buy so let me know.

woot! So many questions, thanks

(so hard to keep up with the forum *and* maintaining 3 nissans, let alone anything else!!)

No, Not too late yet. Prices have all stayed the same as in the 1st post. Credit Card can be arranged. Meridian have done a few of these for SAU people, but they do them all the time on a large variety of cars. Installs can be arranged after the group buy has gone thorugh. But please go through here for the group buy price 1st.

Each install will vary as diff model lines have diff amount of space in front bars. Install is based on man hours to get the job done. Meridian have looked after us when installs have been difficult, by not charging us the full amount of hours spent on the install.

This round of oil coolers will be closed by the end of next week 10/12/04

Please PM me with the following details:

1. Your mobile number (In case we need to ask you anything)

2. Your prefered method of payment

3. Your intended place of install (behind radiator, front bar - drivers - passengers)

4. Your shipping address

5. Your vehicle type

6. any other information you think may be relevent.

I will reply with a price and information on how to make payment.

Damn... My posts keep disappearing from this thread.

Update: I have two payments. RS73 and LTSJayce

Toby @ Meridian has been very busy and will get some quotes to me tomorrow for Nightcrawler

Nozilla and GTShortie are you still interested in this group buy?

Looks like three people have pulled out and we may need one more for this round to go ahead.

Got PM. Responded.

Trust R33 - All the oil coolers I have seen come from Meridian so far have been brand new in a sealed box with plastic end caps on the cooler. I would imagine that Meridian dont sell anything reconditioned as they are a race shop (similar to revolution racegear), and not an importer, or car wrecker. But if you can PM me or email me the details I can make an inquiry for you. They are good blokes and i'm sure they would be happy to respond to any questions you may have.

What? Thats not good if it is a reconditioned one! How do you tell? It better be new when mine arrives...

LARGE case of "ditto"!I'm still 99.9% confident that a newie should show for all of us...I'm sure there's been an addressing mixup or similar.I know at my shop we've got 25 people and twice in the last 4 years a part was wrongly addressed and sent.If that was the case, imagine the look of glee the other bloke had when his "reconditioned" cooler showed up looking like brand new!!

Toby has advised that all oil coolers purchased from Meridian are brand new. The one that Trust 33 received had been painted twice in the factory for some reason. In fact the one I got which works fine on my car was exactly the same.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
