Wow. Pissy much? You on a mission to find old posts to argue with, or is this legitimately just because you're 5 years into a 1 day job?

Got my R34 gearbox around 4-5 weeks ago. Came into some extra $$ recently and after I cleaned the mess off the notes, I thought, might as well buy that R34 box I've been pondering.  In that time I've pulled the engine out, replaced rod and mains bearings, done a few other engine things that are much easier with the engina out eg PRP oil pump upgrade, replacing wastegate coolant lines, installing Turbosmartass turbo oil pressure reg, made some mounting brackets for some of my mods that are "hard to reach", converted the R34 box to R33, put the engine and new gearbox back in the car. Plus cleaning ...Oh my god so much cleaning when doing such a project. Yep I'm a busy bee, buzz buzz. As part of the gearbox project, researched posts and found this thread (In which i nailed it for the OP), hence the post here # logical thinking.. Not all about you old boy, SOrrryyy.

Dare I ask,  how's yours going ,> Or you got it done yet, and if so why didn't you post any of the tips I posted to help other members? ???

Waiting for a queue of Supras to get out of the way. Then the same conversion work to the box which was probably bought about the same day as you bought yours, by the sound of it. And hopefuly with enough Supras out of the way we'll finally get to do the box into the car along with the injectors and AFM so that the last 18 months of driving a highflow nearly NA can finally come to an end.

I should. But it already uses too much fuel for a daily.

You might note my recco for engine chnages are almost exclusively to people who have it as a weekender/summer car. I don't even have room to keep the spares for this one, let alone another car.

Fuel use with a LS is about the same as a RB. Slightly better than a modified RB with a responsive turbo. :p

You'd need another excuse to not go LS (there is no excuse to not go LS)

We're not talking about one of those little girl LS's like yours. We're talking the big boy. LS7.

You sweet summer child, if only you knew the intricacies of the world of LS you would come around to the lego construction of them and truly praise the LS1, the greatest of all.

This of course depends on your use case. That said, LS7 is actually down towards the bottom of the list. The amount of info on the subject puts SAU's 20 year knowledgebase on RB's and R chassis to shame.

Yeah, no... Kinky is right, LS would be the same, possibly better. That's even with LS7.

The right gearing, good tune, free flowing inlet and exhaust. Good fuel usage :)
