dont get kumho ecsta supra's. I had them before my current tyres. In the dry they kicked a bit off ass... in the wet... useless... like being on soap, it was ridiculous.

I now have jus some Nankangs, they do a fairly decent job so far, i quite like them. not too sure how they handle at speed cornering havent put them to the test really... (trying to look after this set :D ) but yeah. They are good in the wet to so far... (might be ass for u turbo bastards but ;) ) leaves massive dry lines :)

but yeah, tis a nice cheap tyre.

lets presume your talking about 17s, i have heard good things about Toyo... :D

hope you dont mind but i think it would be easier to tell you what to stay away from in terms of danger because of no grip....

In terms of cheaper tyres.

Sava Intensa: HARD compound do burnout after burnout, not the best at grip but last FOREVER.

Bridgestone B530s: worst tyre ever, simple

Khumo Ecsta(non supra): Hard Compound, pretty crap at grip.

Tornado Alphas: Pretty good at grip, medium compound. nice and cheap

Nankangs: Again Pretty good at grip with a medium compound. (i run these usually because i get them $135 each in 235/45/R17) Bang for buck i havent found better

Really i choice of paying out your ass, or substituting grip for wear....

Best tyre i have ever bought was Dunlop SP9000s and at $380 each they should have been aswell...

I dont know places to go in Morley.

have a look at the bottom of this page at the related posts see what they recommend. Ive read alot of the tyre posts and they all seem to be about the same in what people recommend and what to steer clear of.

Fane --- interesting about those Nankangs at $135 each, i look for a grip tyre cause i'm not overly into burnouts and its wet aswell, automatic burnout environment.

Its interesting with all those tyres out there, when you have a performance car your choice is drastically limited and you separate the talk and stats from the real performance of the tyre.

some good cheapies are "nexxen" they arent a performance tyre by any means, but that are good just for everyday use.

about 145 per tyre for 235/45 r17

from? who deals in these tyres.

im up for new tyres once my rims get back from getting all prettied up.

Shaun

ZE326 are absolute ASS tyres, no point even buying them. They don't last long, leave 1mm thick rubber on the road, and are pointless in the wet.

I got Nankang NS-1's on the rear (in 255/40/17) and got them for $200/ea

They can be had, as Fane said for around $140 in 235/45/17..

The suprisingly hook up real well, take a beating, and grip pretty decently in the wet :)

paul....no praise for the TPG.. sold your soul

anyways toyo trampios get my vote again

a mate just bought some 17's and paid $185 each... very very cheap for them

but they werent 235's i think 215's so the 235's are still probably around $240 or $250

    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
    • That worked out PERFECTLY! Thank you big time to JJ. He was able to swap me his stock diff. He drove all the way to me as well. Killer! Removal & install was pretty straightforward. The diff itself is HEAVY. So that’s a 2 man job.  Man does the car drive nice now! Couldn’t have worked out any better 👌
    • I'm interested,do you still have it?
