G'day and Hassle free motoring to everyone,

This is my first post although many of you have already helped with posts/replies you've uploaded here.

I'm searching high and low for a front facing plenum intake manifold to suit the Z31 RB20DET.

An earlier phone call with PLAZMAMAN revealed an interesting (but devoed!) new knowledge ...

The newer R32 RB's had a complete redesign of the Head from the previous Z31 RB's and so none of their

plenums will fit my engine without a massive amount of "way above my ability" type stuff.

Is there anyone who is making or selling FFP's specifically to suit the Z31 RB20DET's ?

Not many of those around, haven't heard of one in ages. there was a thread back here from 06/07 where about 7 of them were identified in Aus.

It looks R31 House in Japan used to make a FFP for them, but I'm not sure if they are still around, their agent in Australia, Powerplay Imports, are long gone. http://www.speedhunters.com/2020/03/fairlady-200zr-the-last-straight-six-z-car/

Thanks Prank,

Yeah, I have a Z31 200zr 1988 with an RB20DET.

Basically a 300zx except jap release only and with a Rb instead of the V6.

Precursor to the R32 RB20DET and larger inline 6 displacement engines as far as i know.

Why do you ask?

Have you got a solution?

Spewin, wz excited thinking i had an answer.

Pics? yeah nah, never thought to take any unless to send in a txt

or somthn.

Shes not photo worthy at present, covered in dust due to other things elsewhere on lifes highway

and this issue.

Am considering researching making my own FFP.

Also PranK, i should add, me trying to tell you what a 200zr was , was a bit humorous i think.....

after i saw the related posts following your original mssg.

My apologies if i sounded arrogant or at the very least, left you feeling insulted in any way.

haha mate it's fine, bit hard to judge on the internet what people know (We down here in Aus got the V6 and the top mount intercooler RB20DET if I recall correctly).

    • haha don't worry I'm sue you've got more fun ahead buying a 30 year old turbo car....but at least you are in the right place to ask
    • some days eh? The keyless entry and interior light on/off with the key will be controlled by the Body Control Module, but I'm not certain where that is or what it looks like (you might get lucky with a search to get a part#, which could be printed on it). I'd start at the A pillar/ Under dash/kick panel on the driver's side
    • It might be hit and miss, but Nissan Genuine Parts and Pitworks are not the same thing, although both are available from Nissan Dealers with Nissan Part Numbers. Nissan Genuine Parts are the OEM stuff, Pitworks are their attempt to get people back from generic parts makers
    • I did end up getting it sorted, as GTSBoy said, there was a corroded connection and wire that needed to be replaced. I ended up taking out the light assembly, giving everything a good clean and re-soldered the old joints, and it came out good.
    • Wow, thanks for your help guys 🙏. I really appreciate it. Thanks @Rezz, if i fail finding any new or used, full or partial set of original Stage carpets i will come back to you for sure 😉 Explenation is right there, i just missed it 🤦‍♂️. Thanks for pointing out. @soviet_merlin in the meantime, I received a reply from nengun, and i quote: "Thanks for your message and interest in Nengun. KG4900 is for the full set of floor mats, while KG4911 is only the Driver's Floor Mat. FR, RH means Front Right Hand Side. All the Full Set options are now discontinued. However, the Driver's Floor Mat options are still available according to the latest information available to us. We do not know what the differences would be, but if you only want the one mat, we can certainly see what we can find out for you". Interesting. It seems they still have some "new old stock" that Duncan mentioned 🤔. I wonder if they can provide any photos......And i also just realized that amayama have G4900 sets. I'm tempted too.
